*****OFFICIAL 2022 Border War Hoops and HATE Thread
Alright y’all! We got a game this Saturday. The reigning National Champion Jayhawks are as self-righteous as ever and coming to Columbia, where the Tigers look like they could have their best coached team since the Obama administration. Self is still figuring out his rotations (to a painful degree), and in Columbia anything can happen.
This thread can also be used to talk football and how this rivalry is oh so dead, which is why a bowl game that is not happening has arguments spilling over into Mizzou threads, KU threads, college football threads, and twitter and facebook wars all over my feed. Join me and let’s all talk about how this game doesn’t matter anymore and all angrily ask why I’m missing asterisks in the thread title. |

Missouri can claim some SEC wins to feel better about their incoming humiliation.

Not taking a picture of myself taking a whiz on Allen Fieldhouse may end up going down as my life's biggest regret.
Was driving from Denver to CoMo for the holidays one year and decided to take a detour off I-70 through Lawrence. Parked by Allen Fieldhouse fully intending on taking a picture of myself peeing on it and sending it to a good buddy of mine from Chicago who was a KU grad. I was into photography at the time and had a good camera and tripod in my car, plus the students were gone for the holidays and campus was a ghost town. Even if a campus cop would've caught me, jail would've only been one overnight max and the fine would've been less than a grand probably. I would've had that photograph for a lifetime. But I chickened out like a pussy and it gnaws on my soul to this day. |

Allen Fieldhouse smells really good inside, it’s an old basketball smell. The outside looks like Freddy Kruegers Boiler Room though.

Surprised Mizzou didn't try to dodge this like they did tue bowl game against KU

Mizzou needs to have a rationalization event where they admit they really are not a sports school
|
I see KU is handling UMKC's light work after last years beatdown of Missouri
|
College basketball is a completely irrelevant sport, but I suppose it would be fun if we somehow get the win.

Except you don't even have that now outside of Alex Smith morale victory "we played Georgia close for a little while!" bullshit and avoiding Kansas in bowl games. So, as a fan, what's the point of saying one is relevant and one isn't? You're so concerned about the financials of the school you cheer for and TV contracts, that it must be brought up in a thread about a single basketball game? |

CFB Nat'l Championship - 22.6 million CBB Nat'l Championship - 17.1 million Hm. Almost seems like something the fan of a bad basketball program who had to watch his "rival" win the nat'l championship would say. |

Before long kU will be as irrelevant as the dying sport they care so much about. |

Similar to people always thinking the sky is falling for the Chiefs.... living in a future that doesn't actually exist. |

Meanwhile, kU is scrounging together every penny they can find to make the first upgrades to their high school football stadium since the Eisenhower administration. It's adorable but a little too late. Thank God our administration had the foresight to at least make us a respectable program in football so we could stay in a power conference. Probably saved our university. I would hate to be a fan of a school that will be stuck in the mid majors forever because they prioritized a dying niche sport like college basketball. Sad. |

Kansas just won a National Championship in the sport you don't care about, but also just had its best football season in a over a decade. Missouri is barely treading water in football and has been far worse off in the past decade than they were before leaving the Big 12 and might as well be a mid-major in basketball. FFS, the school is what, like 12 years into the SEC and you could have been placed in the same bowl as lowly dying Kansas this season.... and you're trying to tell us how it's all sunshine and roses? Who are you trying to convince, exactly? LMAO And you didn't answer the timeline question... when should I expect Kansas sports to die and Missouri to do something with all that money you'll never see but is somehow really important to you? Check-in in another decade and a half, maybe? Send Pepe over to Tigerboard in 2040 to see how it's going? |

Maybe we should start a "College Sports Financials HATE Thread" for the Mizzou folks?
It's clearly not a sports school any longer, unless you consider cheering for Alabama a sport. |

Even if Columbia were a better town (not even close), it's in the middle of nowhere. Dajuan Harris had the right idea. Moving to Lawrence is the only way anyone from Columbia will ever win anything. ROFL |

I will say this if you read Tigerboard then you will know why Mizzou is cursed, the fans are so negative it’s no wonder the school has bad juju.

That said, at this point, I'm glad we are playing again. I'm also glad that Mizzou doesn't look like a bunch of bunglers any longer. As much as I enjoy flinging crap at them for the failures, it is more fun when KU/MU is competitive basketball. Hoping for a good game. |

The San Diego Chargers are making an announcement. Charger County, This year marks our 80th year in existence and what better time to tell you we are moving to the NFC East! After decades of trying and failing to win championships and compete in the AFC, we have been accepted into the most prestigious of divisions for reasons. No longer will you have to worry about wins and losses, as we will ride the coat tails of success of this great division, be guarantee several prime time games per season, and most importantly the Chargers family (not you, silly) will be richer than ever. Leave behind rooting against Hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes II and worrying about spending the next 20 years watching the Chargers lose to Patrick Mahomes III in that dying division. They will have problems after the Chargers leave. Sure, they may win more championships and have more glory on the field, but they won't have the Chargers' popularity by association. Leave behind rooting for the Chargers all together, really, as your loyalty now lies with the Cowboys and Giants. They win, and we all win. Your jersey may say "Chargers" and the record may say 3-14, but you can rest easy knowing you're now part of America's Team. Playing football is an irrelevant niche sport. Making vast sums of money is the only sport that matters now. Welcome to the NFC East, the P1 of the NFL! |
comochiefsfan may be reeruned, but at least he's trying in here. Good job little buddy!

For a second I was thinking, there's no freakin way UNC is still ranked... but, seems to be at least a few days old.

All the resources in the world and you’re a rasslin/softball school?
Sad. |

So, what's the latest in resource acquisition and management? What has Mizzou resource fans excited? What's worth bragging about?
Any new weight rooms? Upgraded patches of grass for watching events at the stadium? Any backup Georgia players considering a transfer after being impressed by Missouri's ability to play them closely for a couple quarters? New wrestling mats and wrestling accessories? |

I don't even dislike Missouri. Especially after all this time in separate leagues.
But their fans sure hate KU. |

It's the 2nd time you've mentioned Kansas resources though. Just like when Missouri was a sports school, seems like you take more enjoyment from Kansas resourcing failures than you do Missouri resource successes. If Kansas has a major resource win, I assume we'll hear miracle funds! |
A 10-0 start would be nice
