I think a class action lawsuit is in order
I pay around $250 a month for DTV, I pay $300 for the NFL package and have been with them for 30 years.
This year I've been unable to watch ANY NFL game on the local FOX because DTV and my local station could not come to an agreement. Those games are blacked out on the package . So tonight I call them and raise hell and the only alternative is to watch chanell 465 in Spanish if I subscribe. 4.95 a month I promply tell them if that's my only alternative I'm canceling my DTV subscription unless it's free. So , since the SB is on FOX i'll now be watching the ****ing game in Spanish. I think a class action lawsuit is in order. |

Get a $10 antenna and be 40 seconds ahead of everybody.
|
It's going to Youtube TV anyway. Does that start next year or in 2030

did you see my question for you in the Stock challenge thread ? |
Haven't had the problem with Fox yet, but CBS dropped Dish right before the playoffs began, AGAIN.
Neighbor said CBS has been off his DTV most of this last year. I have two antennas in the attic and just ordered a third one, as we are so far from any of the stations, a dedicated one for each network seems to be the answer. Watched the Bengals/Bills game today on antenna, awesome picture. We also have the Firetv DVR for recording antenna programs. Maybe it is better now but the thursday night streaming broadcast of the Chiefs game early in the season did not impress me. I would love to cut out the Dish, but there is no other option for a few of the channels. |
I most likely will be done with DTV by the time football rolls around next season.
Biggest concern is will my internet + streaming hit my comcast data limit. But for 30 a month more-you can get unlimited internet. **** this world. Yes, there has to be a class action suit out there somewhere |
Put up an antenna like the rest of us poor folk

I kind of miss NFL Network and HGTV (My Lottery Dream Home), but I'll gladly give them up to save $150+ per month. |
My nearest liquor stopped carrying my favorite beer. Maybe I should sue them, too.

You can run a 1,200 mile cable to my house and I'll plug it into the back of my cable box so you can have free cable.

If you have a smart tv just get a free subscription to a streaming service
|
Go grab an HD antenna for 20 dollars. You get a bunch of channels over the air that I didn't even really know about until I got mine. And the picture is really good.
|
I think Hog needs to get either a Rosetta stone or a VPN.
|
I don’t know if this relates, but we spend $5/month for basic tv here. Maybe 12-15 channels. There has been 4 Chiefs games not available this year, (usually if they conflict with Seahawks schedules) those 4 3 of them I watched for free in that stream east link people have posted before.
So there’s other options. |

I effectively only have one broadband provider... Legally, DTV has a monopoly on Sunday Ticket at the moment which will be bestowed to a new monopoly. So yea, I'm in favor of getting the pitchforks out. Corporations do not have any natural born rights that can't be taken away by citizens representatives... |

If they come and take the dish and leave the post, I can mount it there. But it is on the west side of the house and the transmitters are to the ENE. They are only about 10 mi max away. Should not need anything big here. The guy across the street has an exterior antenna. That is better than climbing in the attic and running a cord through the tube to the basement. OK-I worked at radio shack.. |
DTV, Dish, and every other cable company are the same, they're all going to have contract disputes with TV companies. The local stations here in KC are owned by large media companies. KMBC is owned by Hearst, KCTV is owned by Gray, KSHB is a Scripps station, and WDAF is Nexstar.
If you are within 75 miles of the over the air station, a $30 amped indoor antenna will let you get the games for free. |

You have way more patience than I do in giving those dicks hard earned money. Especially money that was earned the hard way.
But yeah, I'd go the digital antenna route. |
Maybe I'll send him an AOL disk so he can do a dial up.
Might be just a little buffering issues........ |
