Well, I guess this means we aren't going for one of the excellent crop of TEs in the draft this year. :shrug:

Bringing Bell back has nothing to do with Gray. He'll still get all the TE2 snaps as possible with Bell doing just dirty work type shit.

Why?

I’d prefer to use Bell in that role and as a 4th TE. Fullback seems like a waste.

Yup. Same position with far different roles. Bell isn't being brought back for his baby soft hands.

With all these 1 year contracts it feels like we will be replacing half our roster every year.

Noticed a lot of other teams doing this as well.

He spent all last year with brokedick in hand. He should he good this year.

Let's face it when you've been to 5 straight AFC Title games, players could start to get complacent.

Disappointed because this means we will once again refuse to do a Mahomes QB sneak and defenses can again exploit us in short yardage.

I figure it is financial and they hope to be able to draft someone to replace them on the cheap. But just in case, or while they learn the system and catch up to the speed, we have this guy who is pretty good. But it does sure put a lot of pressure to nail your drafts at ALL positions.

No reason not to replicate what the Eagles did last year with the Belldozer.

In all reality this could be a move because Bell/Gray are guys who could be used as FB's should that be needed.

Or idk....just use the quarterback for the quarterback sneak?

Dude's already 31. Kind of crazy to think we might actually have to draft a replacement or otherwise replace Bell in the next year or two.

If a really good one falls to 31, Blake Bell isn't going to impact that decision one bit.

I agree, Bell's a good blocker and can run the ball if needed. I don't see that so much in Gray, but I can't recall him ever asked to take a handoff.

He's run a mini-jet sweep and obviously QB sneaks.
