Legendary poker player and 10x WSOP braclet winner Doyle Brunson died today at 89.

I tend to stay in on most 10-2s nowadays. Not sure it has ever worked for me. RIP to a legend.

Also, he should've held on until October 2nd.

I remember people spamming RIP Doyle in 08-09 on Full Tilt when everyone would watch the nosebleed games with Antonious, Ivey, Galfond ect ect.. he lasted for another 15 years lol

I'm gonna play 10-2 offsuit next time I get em dealt. I Imagine many 10-2s will be played these next few orbits. By orbits I mean days, years. Also, the dealer button orbits the poker table so it had a double meaning.

Surprising his son outlived him.

He also looked like a guy who was holding a six shooter when he was playing.

Brunson went to the same high school as Sammy Baugh, leading Sweetwater to the Texas state tournament in basketball and winning the mile in the state track meet. Sweetwater is home of the Rattlesnake Roundup where a bunch of rednecks round up 20,000 rattlesnakes and put them in a pit.

LOL. This is true. I only play it when I'm goofing off on like a $3-$6 table or if I'm playing UTH.

RIP. Not to many things will ever top 2000's poker for me, which involved hosting poker almost every weekend at my house in high school.

I remember being handed a copy of Super System in 2001 and my life changing forever…RIP to a legend.

I keep toying with getting back into poker seriously but I find the metas and play styles nowadays annoying as hell lol…probably just me being an old man.

I was probably a winning player before black Friday in 2011, now i feel like the game has passed me by outside of low stakes live games in KC. But i took a long break from probably 2013-2019 where i didn't play online at all and maybe played live once or twice a year.

Hope they do a massive tribute to him at the WSOP next month.
