The trailer is much of the same of what I think drives football video game fans wild- I don't need a superman Mahomes pass in the game. I need them to fix the stagnate gameplay, I need a better franchise mode. The issue with EA and the bigger video game studios is they are all slaves to profitability. A robust franchise mode doesn't equal more dollars spent per player, it's why MUT mode will always be the mode that is catered to the most. Rather than true innovation, they rely on bringing back old features from previous installments, they only reason they get away with it is become they have a monopoly on the NFL market.

It's an abysmal franchise, imagine that in the year 2023 an NFL franchise mode is FINALLY getting the ability to restructure contracts. The bar is so low for EA and Madden it's comical.

Until the NFL decides to sever ties with EA, we're never getting another decent NFL game.

The last great one was NFL 2K5.

It's a little different when the existence of the shitty Madden franchise and EA's exclusive deal literally prevents competing (and likely superior) NFL-licensed games from being released.

All Of The New Features In Madden 24 Franchise Mode

Pretty needed changes for Franchise there. Hopefully they'll add further restructuring options after launch.

I was never in the "Madden Sucks" crowd, and didn't want to be as it was always my favorite childhood game.

But after putting a few seasons into Madden '22, i understand all the hate now.

Every other year I seem to get that madden itch. Probably will dive into MUT first and then franchise when I'm bored of that. Not sure if I will do a Chiefs theme team again or go something different. Plus I have yet to play it on the next gen version, which is supposed to be better.

If this is worse than I expected I may give this a whirl, it looks promising.

I haven't played Madden on PC since i was a teen.

To me, Madden is a console game. Grew up on it on console. I wanna lay in bed late at night and be able to bang a game out before passing out.

Yeah, I'd much rather have the ability to create my own team, but it's nice they're finally adding some much needed variety to that. It's been the same set of teams outside of a couple tweaks when the Raiders and Chargers moved for well over half a decade.

I mean, you could do that on PC, too. LMAO

So far I've managed to pull off the superman throw three times in about an hour of practice mode.

It seems very random, but it's loosely based on sprinting to your right + pressure defender close + receiver straight ahead and not too deep.

Results: batted pass by pressure defender, sack, INT.

First game is in the books. Pretty balanced.

DB/WR interactions are great. Suction blocking is gone, OL engagements feel crisp, with natural double teams. Running game feels really natural.

CPU goes for it on 4th down, gets it sometimes, doesn't get it other times. Challenging and enjoyable. You make a mistake you pay.

Nice to hear they've fixed that suction blocking. Plenty of nitpicks to be had but that suction blocking and the AI of OL in general was by far the biggest detriment these recent years.

another thing i really, really like is the post-play interactions between players

they're good enough ill just do a manual replay and zoom in to see what they're doing...you can see one there in the screenshot with Toney talking shit

I just want to point out that I would LOVE for EA to get their shit together and fix this ****ing franchise. I spent years buying every Madden and NCAA football game that came out. Hundreds of hours playing franchise year after year to stack up multiple draft classes to import and then play Madden with. The day they pull their heads out of their ass will be ****ing great.

The problem is MUT and all of these bullshit game modes that they keep wasting time on. It's about money and franchise players don't give them that.

Since it's Madden, i'm guessing the defense will just throw themselves out of the way when Mahomes rolls out of the pocket.

If you spend 15 minutes playing any other sports game you'll quickly realize how half ass'd Madden is.
