If you were in the NFL, would you have a problem working with a gay trainer?
Twisted thinks CP is so bigoted that fewer than 50% of CP member would be okay with this.
Let's prove him wrong CP! Quote:

Am I getting a reach around? I vote yes regardless

This is like posting a poll to ask people to publicly proclaim that they're racist. Quality methodology.
|
I see Big Bill post on CP every day
|
I’d be okay working with a lesbian trainer… as long as she was attractive.
|
Depends on their actions. Many people are uncomfortable working with someone who could be sexually attractive to them if they are being overtly creepy. If he is professional it most likely wouldn't lead being uncomfortable with a large majority. That being said, some will be uncomfortable, just as some women would be uncomfortable working with a male trainer or a lesbian.

You can hide the poll results if that's possible to change. |

I'm not in the habit of asking my colleagues about their sexual proclivities and I'd prefer they don't share them with me either.

Why would people hide it? This place is openly bigoted. The country is openly bigoted. What's keeping them from answering honestly? |
Really curious to get staylor's thoughts on this.

Quote:
Or says something homophobic then tells you he has a gay friend. So when you basically hit them in the face with a question like this there isn't enough nuance to get a real answer. |

Shit the thread title and poll title are worded opposite
I was answering No to the thread title and didn’t read the poll title |

If the only problem people have is being touched physically repeatedly, is that really bigoted? Is a woman a bigot if she doesn't want a straight man stretching her out and touching her? Also, would an assistant S&C coach even be touching players? Not questions I considered when I rushed to start this poll lol. |

Ooh, we can merge the threads and see what it does to the polls!

You don't have to like someone's lifestyle preferences to work with them

I love how certain Mods think they're cool for being a Mod. You're the equivalent of an internet hall monitor pussy. |

shit poll |

DaFace says they can't change the vote. |
That would creep me out a bit, so I’d only have a gay trainer if they gave me a blowie afterward
|
staylor ****s up gay polls.

Can't wait for the third thread about the topic no one cares about.

I think that bitch DaFace is keeping me from starting a new thread.
Edit: yup I'm blocked from starting threads now for the entire forum. Never had any issues with me starting threads in the past and now my thread starting priveleges are taken away for what? Making a mistake and calling you a hall monitor? Couldn't even get a warning? What a ****ing pussy. |

You would think I said something awful or disgusting. |
I demand my trainer be gay so we can discuss interior decorating while he caudles me.

You guys know that you don't have to **** the trainer, right? That is just what Deshaun Watson does.

That's what taking threat starting privileges away is? If it was jsut a joke fine, but how was I supposed to know. I thought I was being punished for wrongthink. Huge difference. |
Voted no, but meant to vote yes. Poll is now ****ed! Sorry guys.
|
Wait no. I was right the first time. I read the question wrong the second time lol
|
Just want to go on record:
1/ I think staylor should be able to start threads including this ill-conceived poll 2/ I am very confident that this poll will not be a true representation and we’ll see over 50pct completely fine with it 3/ staylor will proclaim victory without understanding poll biases or even having even heard the term ‘psephology’ in his life |
Wait, god dammit. Poll title and thread title are different

If it never crossed your mind that it could be a joke (and on top of that, the most Zen mod here suddenly being some kind of vindictive asshole), then maybe you're a bit too high strung at the moment. |

I won't waste my time making another thread then. |
CP is openly bigoted, but people still wouldn't honsetly answer a poll with invisible results (by name) on an anonymous football forum.
|
The topic title and the poll flip-flopped on the question being asked.
To be clear, I wouldn't have a problem working with a gay trainer. |
Finally, some good ****ing burst on CP.
|
I think we'd all be living in peace and harmony on CP right now if Delonte Pipkins had signed with the Chiefs

I gave you the split. I then asked you which way CP would lean relative to that. I then asked to adjust that further for the act of touching rather than just simply finding something “morally okay.” I also added a study showing that anti-gay sentiment was under-reported in anonymous polls. Respond to that in a sensible way and let’s walk through it together. That’s going to be a lot more worthwhile than your Mickey Mouse poll you’ve already butchered. |
The only people that make a big deal about gays is themselves.
|
How much is a happy ending?

Here, i'll be totally honest:
1. I would have no problem with a gay trainer if that's whats assigned to me. I would not complain or seek a different trainer based on their sexuality. 2. I would absolutely have an order of preference however if all things are equal and i were given a choice. a) Woman (straight or gay) b) straight male c) gay male 3. If the gay male is superior in their trade than the female or straight male, then that could sway my order of preference. That's just me being totally honest. If that makes me a bigot or w/e the ****, then so be it. |
Wait, you changed the question in the poll from the thread title/OP. No I would not have a problem.
|
POLL ****ING FAIL.
You asked a different question in the title than in the poll question itself. I would *NOT* have a problem. |

I work at the data center that powers the CP search. As a straight white male im the minority. I would not have a problem.

As someone on the young end of Gen X, I feel like we are in a unique position. We were taught as boys by our dads, uncles, grandpas, and teachers to "Be a man" and "Don't be a sissy." It was an insult to be called gay, queer, bundle of sticks, etc. Our children's generation don't seem to quite have this dynamic. In fact my observation as a middle school teacher is that boys now will lean into those kinds of insults.
25 years ago, I would feel very uncomfortable with a gay coworker, especially one who's job it was to physically touch me from time to time. Now, not so much. I guess as you live you gain wisdom and understand that working with a gay man will no more make you gay than will working with a woman guarantee you're hetero. I have two gay colleagues (that I know of). One a man and the other a woman. They are both excellent at their jobs and great hard working role models for kids. When I was in college I worked at a grocery store. One night close to closing a friend of a coworker came in to pick her up for a night out. He was a young gay man. The coworker told me as she was getting set to go clock out that her friend told her I was cute. Initially I was defensive and and put off by this, but then I realized, this is just as much a compliment as if a woman of the same age said it. We're all out her just looking for some beauty in the world aren't we? There's nothing to be afraid of men. Be calm. Be brave. It'll be ok. |
