Today is the day!

I think the most disappointing thing about the practices now is that there aren't any 1-on-1s until the pads come on. At least there aren't any of consequence.

So much will be decided by the 1-on-1s.

Is FAU ready?
Can Prince hold up against a blitzer?
Has Gray taken the next step?
How far has Kinnard progressed?
Is Daniel Wise some hidden gem, or is he JAG?
Maybe most importantly, is Donovan Smith going to be our Achilles heel all season, or did Veach seriously find a capable starting left tackle in May for $4m?

Everything I've read about Andy Reid training camps is that he uses these first few days to run them into the ground. Then he sees who can still perform and make good decisions once they're dead tired.

1. FAU probably won't be "ready." And that's okay.
2. Even if he can, the Chiefs probably won't be trusting him with that job any time soon
3. Gray isn't ever going to become Kelce, but he can keep chugging along as a TE who's not terrible. I say yes
4. I honestly have zero hopes for Kinnard, but that's just me. He was baaaaaaad bad last year
5. JAG
6. I think Smith will be good, but he was always one of the more penalized tackles in the game. That kind of thing usually doesn't just go away.

I just want him to somehow be good enough that I get over my obsession with Tariq Woolen still being on the board when we picked Kinnard. Veach has done an incredibly great job - especially with our DBs - but could you imagine that dude joining our already stacked CB group? I was banging the table for Woolen before last year's draft.

Not to throw shade in the guy’s direction, but it’s pretty much impossible to take his camp observations seriously after that gem from last season.

I called the tyreek trade before it was announced and people laughed. Well here we are again. If Jones can fetch us 4 or 5 draft picks he's gone. There's only ONE person on this team that deserves to be the highest paid player . Any other player on the team is not the difference between winning a SB or not.

Trading Jones right now is an awful idea. Our defensive line would get butt****ed without Jones. Give Blart a full off-season top work on the D line if we're going to cut ties with Jones.

Daron Payne respectfully says they don’t need Chris Jones because he had 11.5 sacks last season and is only 26.

Those 2 could actually fit though because Payne can 2 gap and stuff the run. They'd probably be one of, if not the best, DT tandems ever.

Not that there's any chance of that trade happening though because they have Jonathan Allen already too.

A turd defense means long drives by opposing offenses (if they're smart), keeping Mahomes off the field.

It would actually make more sense to just pay what he's asking for than to tag him. His tag number will be 120% of his 2023 salary + bonuses, which comes out to nearly $34 million.
