Nah man they want you to pay hundreds of dollars for that and even then possibly get the game you want to watch be blacked out.

I’ve said for years that if they made it so that NFL Sunday Ticket had a single team package, I would buy it. I’m not paying $300 to have games I won’t watch.

FlaChief58 08-30-2023 11:20 AM

They could stop a lot of it if they made the games ppv. I have no interest in paying to watch such juggernauts as the falcons and cards in a cripple fight

That would absolutely destroy the network tv contracts that drive the leagues revenue.

lcarus 08-30-2023 11:24 AM

If they make it that difficult to watch games without paying an arm and a leg, most people will just find something else to do with their time

RunKC 08-30-2023 11:24 AM

NFL+ is an absurdly good deal guys. $14.99/month to watch on any device. If you're out of market it shouldn't be a biggie bc most of our games will be nationally televised

That's what I did this year rather than a streaming cable service. Can watch local standalone games via antenna, and NFL+ has Redzone now.

why is it so difficult for the nfl to have one simple ****ing package that lets me watch all the games live. not even their premier product, sunday ticket, has everything bundled into it. you don't get access to tnf and black friday games + you're practically forced to purchase YouTube TV for the primetime shit.

it's ****ing asinine how greedy these bitches are, they want you buying 50 different subscriptions. nah **** off, ill illegally stream till my last breath you pussies.

My understanding is that live games are only available on a phone or tablet? I thought about signing up but I'm not going to watch games on a phone instead of my TV. Does screen Mirroring work to watch on a TV or has the NFL figured out how to block that too?

They want to bundle "exclusive" access to everything off to the highest bidder, obviously. Amazon isn't going to pay for a Thursday night game if it's also on OTA TV. Make it exclusive, billions of dollars appear.

As much as we hate the cost, the NFL isn't running a charity and this is apparently the value of the entertainment they are providing because there is no shortage of people watching.

So this is what the NFL wants me to do?

Thursday night games - Have Amazon Prime
Televised games - Have cable TV
All other games - Pay for NFL+ and watch them after they’ve been aired

Or **** the NFL and I’ll keep streaming what isn’t televised.

Well finding a good NFL stream is very very easy. It takes about 1 minute to open the same site that I always go to, click on the list of available streams for that game, click on the stream I want, close 2 or 3 popup ads, cast the browser tab to my TV, and watch.

in many cases, I've had better picture quality via stream, than through shitty compressed video that the networks put out (EDIT: SHould say the providers signal)

Nobody said it was a charity, but they're clearly alienating many people who aren't going to sign up for several different streaming platforms, many times on top of cable/satellite, so they can simply catch one freakin' team over 5+ months.

Yeah, they're clearly giving no ****s about the die hard fans, just like when they out price fans at the stadium, and there are plenty of people on each platform that will watch any shitty football... but, just because it's logical because yay capitalism doesn't make it right.

One very helpful thing is that our team is awesome, so most of the Chiefs' games are nationally televised. That makes it way easier as I can get most games on OTA Fox, NBC, or Amazon Prime (which I happened to have anyway exclusively for the shopping benefits).

I'm sure they would say the die hard fans are the ones paying for the TV packages and for the tickets, while the casuals are the ones who decide they don't care about the NFL that much. If ratings were taking a hit they'd rethink it all.

~$120-130/month or so after taxes and what not?
YouTubeTV is ~70 and apparently Sunday Ticket is $350 if you have YT... Prime is up to 130/yr I think, Peacock is only $6/month.

It's not awful, even though that used to be about my combined TV and internet cost. You could cancel YT and Peacock every postseason, at least.

And then just wait for YT or whoever to run into contract issues and you lose ESPN for a while or whatever.

I share a YT subscription and have Prime, but the former is based in Florida, so I stream some of the big games that aren't televised there.

I'm sure as people continue to not subscribe and illegally stream the government will try to crack down on this and then the NFL will wonder why instead of making more money...they have less fans and revenue went down.

Wisconsin_Chief 08-30-2023 12:52 PM

I stopped buying Sunday Ticket years ago and haven't missed a game with StreamEast, and the quality is full HD. I just stream it right from my browser on my Xbox, couldn't be easier. Then these evil bastards don't get a dime of my money which makes me enjoy it even more.

They can whine all they want, but they'll never eliminate streaming. It's not possible, there will always be a way around any bullshit they come up with, especially when it's originating from other countries. Give me an option to buy only the Chiefs games for $99 a year or something and you can have my money. You want me to buy 5 different bullshit subscriptions, I'll keep pirating, that simple.

Exactly. I used to be a Royals fanatic, watched every game I could. Went to many games and followed them closely. Now I haven't seen one in at least three years and I live in Missouri, their market.

They can all go **** themselves in the direction they are heading. Never had to stream a game yet, but it is looking like my only option on the Germany game.

RealSNR 08-30-2023 01:42 PM

That's cute. The leagues are saying they're losing $28 billion a year because people are pirating.

Do they really believe that EVEN if they somehow found a way to stop ALL illegal streams that they would earn that supposed $28 billion back? Or even a fraction of it?

People aren't paying because they don't believe the product you offer is worth the asinine price or the hassle that comes with trying to sign up for every goddamn streaming service known to man.

You might not make back the $28 billion you're missing out on if you make some changes there, but I'll bet you'll earn back a big hunk of it if you're reasonable with your price and subscription demands.

Awh come on, why you trying to inject logic into the NFL's dream ?

Wish I knew how to do that. We have FireTv and a Firetv recast box. Antenna, Prime, Max, Paramount, Dish and still won't be getting the Miami game in Germany because we cut back on the dish and no longer have the NFL channel.
