TJ Hockenson sets the TE market
Kelce the next holdout? /Deberg

Doesn't seem like a particularly large jump? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8ba2a67fa8.jpg

I mean he's good. But he's not the best.
I watch every Vikings game because my wife is a huge fan. Dude could not hold Kelce's jockstrap and I'd argue that Kittle (when healthy) and Andrews are better. |
Market resetting? Uh, he got $17.1M per year. Waller is getting $17M. Kittle is 3rd at. $15M. If anyone reset the market it would have been Waller.
|
every position can't keep getting reset. There's not enough money in the cap.
|
It doesn't matter as long as Cousins is the QB. He's their ceiling.
|
Looks like quite a few teams paying big money to mediocre TEs.

The Vikings are so weird...
They have massive cap problems, they have to pay Jefferson, everything is positioned for them to move on from Cousins and go into a serious rebuild. The defense is also really really bad and needs a total overhaul.. And then they do this, I don't get it. |

Lol that Njoku contract.
I would call it embarrassing, but it pales in comparison to the 3-4 other circus antics going on with that organization currently. |

He takes a ton of shits behind a bad line and still gets the job done. |

JimmyG is a step behind. |

Those Hawkeye TEs!
Waller is the one who doesn't deserve getting paid, TJ is legit and frankly worth that kind of $ IMO. Now, I agree, he doesn't come close to Kelce, but nobody does. |

Kirk has NEVER had a complete OL in Minnesota. There's either been weaknesses at the interior or weaknesses at tackle. If Darrisaw stays healthy, this might be the first year he has an actual reliable OL to work with. I'll betcha this will end up being the best season he's had in his career. |

I would say it's because he has to wear purple. But I don't want to state bait
|
Stupid ass deal. He doesn't do hardly shit for them.

Cousins hasn't proven he's any better than the rest of the mediocre-tier QBs. |

The Vikings will remain with zero Super Bowl wins!

This was set in stone the minute they traded for him.

So I guess they've got that going for them... |

Ok, I laughed hard at that

Really, we're just lucky Travis isn't greedy. He's easily worth $20 million/yr. Probably more. If he demanded what he was worth every time his contract came up, he might not even be a Chief right now.
Kittle's worth more than all those other TEs not named Travis Kelce. |

Lol, well that's a given for any player, yes? |

Honestly, I think Travis is just a weirdo, in that I don't think he's terribly concerned with being paid top dollar. The whole "respect" aspect of how big his contract is just doesn't seem to be on his radar. For which I'm very grateful. |
2nd half of the year I believe the only TE with more yards than him was Kelce. He blew up in Minnesota.

Well, Mike Florio has the script for two weeks worth of his schtick. His fingers are probably bleeding and blistering right now as he rapidly attacks his keyboard down in his mother’s basement. Can’t wait to hear his determination that Kelce is grossly underpaid and the Chiefs will have to give him a new contract before the new season ends.
:shake: |
Quote:
Hmm. ESPN says that he's played in at least 14 games per season every season of his career, except one, in 2020. |
Quote:
That's not that great. |

He is grossly underpaid |
Quote:
Toney's already missed 15 games in just two seasons. Imo, 2-3 games/season doesn't equal 8+ games/season. But that's me. |
I swear Florio probably honestly believes Veach needs to have an anal implant that will shock him every time a QB or TE signs a contract so he can offer Mahomes and Kelce more money.
The best player at a given position rarely has the highest contract number. But Florio can't get that through his fat skull |
Quote:
Oh, it's getting through his skull, there's just nothing there to receive it. |
Quote:
NFL fans like to act that any QB outside the top 5 is garbage. Which is asinine. Cousins is a clear upgrade for most teams. He is not Mahomes. No one else is. |
Hockenson should give 15% of his signing bonus to Justin Jefferson.
|
He's a POS and we roasted Minny in the trade. His YAC is a joke and got a huge contract for it. I love Kwesi, he's their Quintricia or Millen.
|
Quote:
He'd be the 2nd best quarterback in franchise history. Calling Cousins some bucket of shit is silly. Oh he's cornball as **** and fun to make fun of - I will continue to do that. But that guys a heck of a QB. |

Hockenson
Wasn't there a sped poster that used to say Hokkkkkkkkk,,,,,,
? All I got |
I gotta admit, I'd be pretty happy with my lot in life being paid $14 million a season to play sports, stay in shape, work out, and win super bowls.
Seems like a pretty sweet gig to me. |
