They were fun to watch, that Hunter kid played a 129 snaps and was absolutely incredible.

Yeah that two way playing is insane - he needs to pick a side of the ball

Damn that was 2003 Chiefs level of bad defense there lol

Halftime was 17-14 - the second half was defense collapse on both sides

No way. This guy is a breath of fresh air. The Shohei Ohtani of NCAA football. My favorite college player outside of my team.

Urc Burry 09-03-2023 10:26 AM

Best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson coming up in this draft, and Hunter might be a better overall prospect than him. Hopefully Shedeur comes back for his senior year even if he does climb to a first round prospect

Stewie 09-03-2023 10:28 AM

I liked the post game interview with Sheduer and Hunter. When asked about breaking the passing record Sheduer said, "When we practice every day against him (nodding at Hunter) I have to be perfect or he'll make me pay."

WilliamTheIrish 09-03-2023 10:30 AM

Wish the Cats could have closed/held that Dylan Edwards commit. That dude is fast.

Hunter is a CB in the pros.

TCU/CU was the best CFG I got to see yesterday, very entertaining.

Pre-season polls are often incredibly wrong, sometimes laughably so. They mean nothing.

TCU is going to be bad this year. Their ranking is solely based on last year. They only have 3 returning starters on defense and while they return 8 starters on offense, the 3 not returning were the 3 best players on the team. CU is definitely improved from last season, but they are going to have to fight like hell to be bowl eligible. Sanders bullshit “Prime Time” persona is going to wear thin really fast at CU. Once his sons are gone, he will be looking for the next opportunity to move on and grift another university for millions of dollars.

Pre season polls don't mean shit. They lost 65-7in the title game and then came out and gave up 45 points. I'll give Colorado credit on offense they have some play makers but they also gave up 45 points to a offense that lost its starting Guard, QB, RB and WR to the NFL.

Megatron96 09-03-2023 12:19 PM

Man, I hope they show a replay. I only got to see highlights. Looked like a great game.

I can't remember when the Buffs were any good. Back when I was in college? Decades.

Center of the DL is weak though. Didn't see a single snap where they moved the LoS an inch. Just judging from the highlights, I think their defense just doesn't have the athletes/players to get it done.

I think they might be involved in shootouts every game.

Boxer_Chief 09-03-2023 12:21 PM

The hype train is way too high right now. Yes they are better but my lord you’d think this was a mixture of Alabama Georgia and Ohio state the way people are talking about the game. It always has to be extremes I guess to get clicks but TCU is a bad team.

notorious 09-03-2023 12:32 PM

Colorado is decent, this is the worst TCU team in years.

Pretty simple.

Definitely not. This is something that should be embraced as learning the instincts of both positions allows him to get into the mind of his opponent as he understands both route running and coverage schemes.

NFL is a rarity among team contact sports for it not to be required or even expected that players are involved when their team has the ball and when they don’t.

I think I agree. At a minimum, he's basically doubling his knowledge/experience every day, having to practice/prepare/play both sides. That should greatly increase his value for the Draft.

If he continues to play both ways for his entire career, it will hurt his draft stock due to the sheer number of snaps played. NFL teams will see an increased injury risk due to overuse.

Apparently, calling him Deion is some kind of a sin that even PMII can't get away with.

All the drama has sure put the Bufflehoes on the click bait radar.

ForeverIowan 09-03-2023 04:54 PM

The 5 star recruits and elite transfers are going to pile up in the coming years. Id be surprised if Colorado is not playing in a national title game in the next 3-4 years.

Deion probably won’t still be at Colorado in 3-4 years.

Pablo 09-03-2023 06:06 PM

TCU is two steps ahead of Minny, who is a PAINFUL offensive team. Just bad.

Dunerdr 09-03-2023 06:14 PM

I think it’s somewhere in the middle. TCU is not a playoff team this year, they aren’t making the Big12 championship game this year. But I also think Colorado is coming together quicker than expected as well. A lot of people expected them to flop but they probably win 8+ games.

Welcome back to the Big12.

HonestChieffan 09-03-2023 08:02 PM

I think it gives him more prestige to take a perennial losing program around and make it a winning program than to walk into an established program and keep winning. He will stay as long as the program remains successful

Megatron96 09-03-2023 08:29 PM

I think Prime will get it done. He'll make CU into a winning team, probably win 6 games this season. Might be in the playoffs in a couple years. People think he's all flash and no substance, but they're wrong. And by the end of next season, everyone will know he's for real.

Spot On!! Sooner than later and CU is just a stepping stone for him. He might just go back to his alma mater and make them a National Champion. Regardless he'll be a national champion coach somewhere I assure you.;)

Maybe. It's pretty damned hard to win a NC. Seems to take some degree of luck as well as having a great team. But I think he can produce a contending team eventually. I mean, if they're in the national conversation in two or three years that's a huge W for both Prime and CU.

Isn’t that kinda the exact article you’d expect to get from a HBCU alum who reports on sports and race?

I’m not saying I entirely disagree with it and it did seem a little weak when he left Jackson State. But I can also appreciate that he was given another, larger turnaround opportunity on a bigger stage and was able to do it with his two of his kids running things on the field (also giving them a much better platform for the NFL).

I don’t know that I’d ever begrudge someone for climbing the ladder in their profession like that.

I don't have a problem with him climbing the ladder but from every where's coached from high school, to HBCU, to Colorado he pitches all these grandiose ideas he's going to do for the school they never materialize and he leaves in a few years

DenverChief 09-04-2023 09:40 AM

You know what else is interesting to me is how many Graduate Students he has on his roster - guys that played football elsewhere undergrad and came here for one year of eligibility as a graduate student.

WR Javon Antonio - Northwestern State
S Jahquez Robinson - Alabama
RB Kavosiey Smoke - Kentucky
OLB Derrick McLendon - Florida State
WR Xavier Weaver - South Florida
ILB LaVonta Bentley - Clemson
S Shilo Sanders - Jackson State
S Rodrick Ward - Southern Utah
OLB Devee Harris - Old Dominion
ILB Brendan Gant - Florida State
OLB Jordan Domineck - Georgia Tech/Arkansas
DE Taijh Alston - West Virginia
ILB Juwan Mitchell - Tenneessee
DT Leonard Payne Jr. - Fresno State
ILB Noah Young - Tennessee/ Utah State
G Reggie Young - Liberty
G Landon Bebee - Missouri State
T Savion Washington - Kent State
DT Shane Cokes - Dartmouth

One year to show out and hopefully get an opportunity to play in the NFL

I respectfully disagree- I understand his motives and I respect his decisions. If he bounces after 2 years for bigger and better then I'll eat crow. But I believe he is around for as long as his medical condition will allow.

I guess it's a matter of perspective.

What was Jackson State before Deion showed up? A .500 team? Worse? Did he bring them a championship?

Not saying that he's a great Xs-and-Os coach. Not sure we have enough information to say one way or the other. Frankly, as I understand it, the most important part about being a college coach is being able to recruit. In that one regard, Deion seems to be as good as any top-ranked college coach right now.

Their defense is really bad they have no pass rush the LBs aren't very good. The offensive line is one of the worst in college football
