This team needs to pull a Code Red on Toney

I’ve had it

Hamwallet 12-10-2023 06:42 PM

Trash. We have lost fundamentals.

BWillie 12-10-2023 06:42 PM

That was such a ticky tack penalty. It shouldn't and almost never is called.

ChiefaRoo 12-10-2023 06:42 PM

Dee Ford memorial play on Offense. FK.

No it wasn’t. The dude was clearly offsides.

I don’t know what pull a code red means but if it’s murder him on live television I’m all for it

Maybe… but Toney is a head case. What an unnecessary mental error.

carcosa 12-10-2023 06:43 PM

He simply cannot be on the roster next season.

There’s no fixing this WR group. We have Rice and a bunch of special teams/CFL players.

the fundamentals on this team has gone down the toilet with Nagy as OC. I want Reid to take over the entire offense.

Considering we can’t trust him not to make major negative plays, he shouldn’t see the field the rest of the year

DrRyan 12-10-2023 06:44 PM

He was literally lined up in the slot looking right at the ball blatantly in the neutral zone. Inexcusable

Yep

Jewish Rabbi 12-10-2023 06:45 PM

I remember people being pissed at me when I questioned whether he was a #1 receiver based off of one punt return. Those people wanna eat their crow?

Sir, a second Toney has hit the regular season.

I said he sucked before the year. Everyone lost their mind. They also liked to cite the reason Skyy and him were good because Reid schemed up two TDs vs the Eagles that any person on Earth could have caught.

FlaChief58 12-10-2023 06:47 PM

It's not just Toney, there are a bunch of guys who need a swift kick in the ass, right out the door.

FloridaMan88 12-10-2023 06:48 PM

Veach actually went into an NFL season with Toney, MVS and Skyy Less at the top of the WR depth chart.

arrowheadnation 12-10-2023 06:48 PM

Dee was awful but Toney’s first job as a WR after the huddle breaks is to check with the line judge to confirm you’re not offside. Jesus H. Christ. This team can’t get out of its own way.

RealSNR 12-10-2023 06:49 PM

Well Veach specializes in rebuilding entire position groups in a single offseason…

Clean them all out except for Rice. But for the love of God start with Toney

Buehler445 12-10-2023 06:50 PM

My buddy at the game texted me that Toney pointed at the ref when he line up and the ref acknowledged him.

Same shit happened to Terry McLauren a couple years ago.

Onus is on Toney, but **** the refs for being like saying he’s good and then tossing the flag.

I've never seen a team more snakebitten in a season than this one. With the drops, fumbles, reeruned penalties at the absolute worst time. It's kind of amazing actually. What a group of bedwetters.

bringbackmarty 12-10-2023 06:59 PM

Toney is taking money to shave points, or he's reeruned. Take your pick although it could be both.

It should be called every time. It's the first rule you learn in pee-wee football.

I remember when people were telling me to kill myself when I said he sounded dumb in the video when he first came to the chiefs.

It's not the refs job to say "hey dude, scoot back, you are across the LOS".

When a WR is looking at the ref and signaling, it's TELLING him he is a player that is ON or OFF the LOS.... not asking him a ****ing question for advice.

This is false. MY dad has been an official for 30 years and fans constantly repeat this. The WR often looks at the ref to see if he's good and if the side judge says he's good. The side judge will let him know if he's good or not.

kcpasco 12-10-2023 07:11 PM

If the ref acknowledged Toney being good and threw a flag for offsides that’s complete corruption.

That was McLauren's story a couple years ago. It was bullshit then. It's bullshit now.

I got plenty of issues with Toney but if he was given the OK by the ref on that offsides then I hope the ref dies of a painful cancer.

Not correct. That actually IS a thing and refs acknowledge it all the time. My wife’s uncle was a D-I ref and we’ve had that conversation. Especially after the McLaurin incident.

Wonder if Veach’s aversion to any players over 30 will keep us out on Evans if hits the open market

I never figured that the Giants flipped us a sure thing WR1 for a third round pick.

Toney always struck me as a bit of an odd dude from a personality perspective. Maybe the type to one day decide being a DJ was more important than a NFL career...

Given his athleticism and injury history I figured he was going to be a boom/bust candidate.

For rolling the dice with a third round pick, I was hoping there was going to be more boom at least when he was healthy. But so it goes.

Toney would be fine as a punt returner/gadget player… but to rely on him to be a starting WR… which the Chiefs were counting on before the season… is a massive failure by Veach/Andy.

I’d look at trying to get Diggs. Awesome receiver and I’ve always had respect for him. He always loves the Chiefs as well. Him and Toney were having a 15 min convo before the game

No, there is a 5'10" receiver from Middle Western Eastern State University in the FCS that Veach has his eye on.

Veach thinks we will be good, since we will have Skyy Moore in year 3 and he is bound to be better than previous years at some point, and MVS is under contract, and Toney still has knees, and the new small school no-name receiver he discovered that no one else wanted to draft, plus Rice, and he thinks they give Mahomes enough support offensively.

Next year we need 4 WR's minimum. Stop counting guys that don't run routes and get open as WR's.

Yeah tired of hearing about the punt return. Pat had the offense marching in the second half without that return. Had TDs on both drives already. The Chiefs win that SB without Toney.
