According to Vegas Insider. I'd post the link but newbies aren't permitted.

How many of you will make a wager? I'm not a K.C. fan but I probably will.

Here’s a wager.

I bet you can EAT SHIT!!!!

Buehler445 05-29-2024 09:45 PM

It’s hard as hell to go back to back. Nobody has ever done 3. Not even in the dynasty era before free agency.

But we have Mahomes.

Green Bay: 1929-1931

Otherwise, it hasn't been done yet. I wouldn't be shocked if it happens this year, though.

If KC is healthy, they'll have a good shot. Don't bet against Mahomes / Reid /Spags in the playoffs.

Yes. Green Bay won the title in 1931. Just like they did in 1929 and 1930. 1931 was their third straight title.

George Liquor 05-30-2024 10:01 AM

I took KC + money for every playoff game last year.

The famous NFL season of 1931 consisted of these 10 legendary franchises:

Brooklyn Dodgers
Chicago Bears
Chicago Cardinals
Cleveland Indians
Frankford Yellow Jackets
Green Bay Packers
New York Giants
Portsmouth Spartans
Providence Steamrollers
Staten Island Stapletons

Highlighted in bold are the only three teams that have existed since the modern era.
So, Green Bay "threepeated" in a league with 3 legit franchises. Incredible.

The argument isn't how impressive it was. It was about if it was done at all. Which it was, despite a claim to the contrary. Way to miss the point.

And the Cardinals are still active. Learn some NFL history.

Alright, I missed one. Still, a league with 4 legit franchises.
You can say, a team in the 1920s won three titles in a row during an era of football where teams were made up of plumbers, firefighters and parking lot attendands. Professional NFL football starts with the SB era. Everyone knows this.

The thread is about Superbowl odds. He obviously meant Superbowls. No one but you cares about pre 1970 threepeats.

chiefzilla1501 05-30-2024 10:44 AM

Yup kc will have long odds only because of the threepeat. I'm still taking them

Closer to the season, at least last year they had promos closer to the season. For me it was a bonus bet for every game they won. So I'll probabky wait until closer to the season since I don't see those odds changing much

Bro, it is a thread about Super Bowl odds. WTF did you think he meant? :doh!:

Hayneplane 05-30-2024 02:59 PM

Niners are only shorter odds because the NFC bracket is an easier gauntlet to run than the AFC.

Once they get there only fools back against a healthy Mahomes.

I really hope we win the next one against Shanahan again.

Even a Mahomes that’s not healthy wins SBs.

Green Bay also is the only NFL team to win three straight titles, having done it twice (1929-30-31 and 1965-66-67). What they should clarify is that it hasn't been done in the SB era. Green Bay won the title in 65 then the first 2 SB's in 66 - 67.

Not sure how true that statement is about the NFC being an easier gauntlet. Assuming good health for all, We probably realistically only have to worry about 3 or 4 teams. Cincinnati, Houston (assuming Stroud is for real and I think he is), Buffalo (because of what Alan can bring to the table, even with a depleted receiving core) and I guess Baltimore, although I have little faith in Lamar being able to win big games and I think they will be worse than last year. And in all of those matchups we have Mahomes.

San Francisco definitely has to worry about Detroit and Green Bay (as both should’ve beat them last year if luck had shifted a bit), I think Philadelphia is unlikely to implode again, and they have super talent, and maybe Dallas is also in that mix. Dallas is a bit like Baltimore. It looks good until they choke. And in Purdy San Francisco has a quarterback that is probably about the same level of talent as the others on this list, but certainly not at the elite level that Mahomes is at where he can be counted on to pull rabbits out of hats as needed.

So I think San Francisco’s odds of going to the Super Bowl are overrated. My guess is we will see the Chiefs beat the Lions For our three peat.
