Dude was heavily involved in the Astros cheating scandal. He may not get in.

comochiefsfan 01-21-2025 06:19 PM

The hall is a joke without Bonds, Clemens, A Rod, Rose etc.

Rose should not be in the HOF. Sorry not sorry.

KC Hawks 01-21-2025 06:22 PM

Pat Mahomes Sr. should be in it for producing the greatest quarterback of all time IMHO

Especially if the writers are going to just vote Beltran in at the same time (which it appears they are going to do). One form of cheating apparently matters to these sanctimonious clowns and another doesn't.

chiefzilla1501 01-21-2025 06:24 PM

Even if I'm on the fence about PED users in the HOF it is pretty cool to see this class where they were excellent in the steroid era and probably didn't use.

Jewish Rabbi 01-21-2025 06:42 PM

I bet the one dumbass who didn’t vote for Ichiro was BWillie

alpha_omega 01-21-2025 06:57 PM

Beltran? No way.

Might as well let Sixto Lezcano in.

David Ortiz failed a drug test and got in on the first ballot.

Canseco has alluded to the fact that there are multiple steroid users in the HOF already (my guess is Rickey and Pudge).

At this point let them all in. It is a museum. If I’m going to a museum about the history of baseball, that museum is not complete without the hit king, the home run king, and the greatest pitcher of all time.

Acknowledge the fact that they used PEDs on their plaques if you must, but put them in for gods sake.

Look down at your trousers and guesstimate to me how big are you right now?

Beltran can go **** himself right along side Bonds and Sosa.

As a Braves fan... **** McCann and Charlie Morton too.

Open a new wing and call it the Hall of Cheaters... put them in there.

Deberg_1990 01-21-2025 08:10 PM

I mean, cheating has gone on in some form or fashion since forever.

How many pitchers are in the hall who used spit, snot, vasoline , etc….?

Hell, you have to use a vibrator to get your wife off. Is that cheating too?

Perhaps this is just me...

If you cheated by roiding up and you made it to the show as the 23rd guy on the 26 man roster... no records are in danger. If you get caught you are gone but as long as you continue being the 23rd guy on the roster... chances are your career will come and go without anyone being the wiser.

When a dude like Barry roids up and crushes single season and career records by cheating... you don't get to go to the HoF. All the life long glory of being in the HoF and being, unquestionably, regarded as one of the GOATS of the game... he spent all that future equity by juicing up during his playing career.

Reminds me of Dr. Now... (from the start of this video through :25)

So it's fine if all of the pitchers and other hitters in Bonds' era 'roided up but it's not fine for him because he happened to be (much) better than all of them at the same time?

Sounds like the kind of logic of a BBWAA writer voting for the HOF.

Did I say it was fine or did I say

The cheaters aren't entitled to anything. This is an honor.

Them sitting on the outside is a reminder to future players that this is what happens when you use. It's a deterrent.

GloucesterChief 01-21-2025 11:04 PM

Somehow someone didn't vote for Ichiro. One vote short of unanimous.

3,000 hit club, record 10 Gold Gloves by an outfielder, 2001 AL MVP, single-season record for most hits in a season, an ambassador for the game, trail blazer from Japan.

It's crazy that a reliever is the only unanimous. A reliever?!!!! Relievers don't even get Cy Young consideration anymore.

Or Martin and Murtaugh for managers.

Is issue is more they pick and choose, does a single person think Jeff Bagwell wasn't on anything?

Bagwell's reputation has been stained despite being in the Hall of Fame.

He had a first ballot resume and it took him seven years to get in. And nobody has anything concrete that connects Bagwell to steroids.
