Breaking

Bump 02-27-2025 03:36 AM

RIP

always enjoyed his movies. It said police suspect no foul play, I wonder if it's something like carbon monoxide if they all died together. Sad

threebag 02-27-2025 03:52 AM

RIP

HemiEd 02-27-2025 03:55 AM

Wow, a comma in the OP would have helped me as I thought it was just his wife and dog.

So sad, he was one of the greats. Rest in Peace. 95 is a hell of ride though and he did it well

LoneWolf 02-27-2025 04:01 AM

Must have been that outlaw William Munny from Missouri.

Yeah, I was amazed that one woman was both his wife and his dog.

I checked his IMDB, Welcome to Mooseport was his last movie, that was 20 years ago.

Yea. I figured it had been at least 20.

So many great roles. The French Connection, Hoosiers, Mississippi Burning, Unforgiven, Crimson Tide. Just to name a few……

foul play were detected"

Maybe not "foul play" but something isn't right. Hackman, his wife and dog all found dead during a wellfare check isnt normal.

RIP

DJJasonp 02-27-2025 08:54 AM

RIP to a fantastic actor. No one could give an evil and friendly smile in his roles like Hackman.

Mississippi burning is one of my all time favorites, along with unforgiven, quick and the dead, and of course, Hoosiers.

PHOG 02-27-2025 09:10 AM

I’m sure you old Navy guys take issue with it, but. Crimson Tide is sooo good. Crackerjack entertainment. Two great actors at the top of their game. Hackman/Denzel

One of the greatest movie resumes in Hollywood history.

Just an awesome actor.

RIP to a legend and life well lived.

DJ's left nut 02-27-2025 09:42 AM

Hackman should get more consideration in that "Greatest American Actor" conversation than he does.

He was a genuine force. And for a guy who was...uh...unconventionally handsome - that's pretty remarkable.

That guy didn't have leading man looks by any means, he was just that damn good.

I always thought it was a damn travesty that the last line on his CV is "Welcome to Mooseport..."

I always hoped he'd make one last movie just to go out on a higher note but he made it clear for decades that he was just done. Really hard to believe that it's been 20 years since his last movie.

Graystoke 02-27-2025 09:43 AM

I had no idea he was that old....man time

PunkinDrublic 02-27-2025 09:50 AM

Changed the life course of one Jimmy Chitwood. Without his influence, Jimmy transfers to Terhune and Hickory never makes the finals let alone upsets an athletically superior South Bend Central. Think about it!

I knew he was in his mid-90s.

I had no idea that the years had done that sort of number on him, though. He's completely unrecognizeable in photos you can find over the last couple of years.
