Grienke trade talks heat up
Royals young pitcher Zach Grienke is the talk of rumors these days. With pitches that vary from 90 mph to 65 mph he is a hitters worst nightmare and a owners dream. "Realistically we know we can't keep him" GM Allan Baird said. "We will have to trade him now to get what we can, because we know he won't be coming back in 2008" The talk around the diamonds is a 3 Way deal Sending Grienke to the yankees, Yankees sending books to Lincoln Junior High, and in turn the royals get the rights to a soft throwing left handed kickball pitcher. "It's a sad state of affairs, but I think we are getting good value" Baird said.

By the time Greinke is set to be a FA and if we're lucky has performed for us as well or better than Beltran, hopefully the economic landscape will be much more equitable in MLB that will allow the Royals to afford to keep their players
|
That better be a damn good kickball pitcher :harumph:

You're talking about baseball during the NFL playoffs and the start of the conference schedules in college hoops? Shame on you.
|
Baseball should emulate Hockey.

Earth calling huskerdooz, earth calling huskerdooz. What is the color of the sky in your world. The baseball owners and MLB management isn't smart enough to realize that something needs to be done in order to competitive on and off the field..... :hmmm: |

Signs of hope? Explain.
That's not sarcastic -- it's serious. How and when will things get better? How many more years will KC have to endure the Royals being eliminated from the championship before Spring Training starts? |
We usually do fairly well in Spring Training. :)

Basically, the Yankees are paying 50% of their payroll in revenue sharing and luxury taxes, and the max percentages for the bargaining agreement haven't even been reached yet. There was a lot more to it than that, but the way it read, the small market teams should get a big bump in revenue this year. They key will be this next contract they put together. They could make a huge stride in the right direction if they play their cards right. |
This is the gheyest thread I have seen in a while. But I hadn't seen you start any threads in a while...

And just when I thought demon was starting to be funny.

I am with deberg on this one

as much as i love kc, i always have, i will renounce my royals fandom should they trade away grienke. they have given me no reason to remain a fan. trading away their best players is a good way to piss off a fan base that hasn't seen shit since they were 5 years old. don't the royals know that it would be easier for all of us to be cardinal fans, since we wouldnt have to change color schemes, and would be able to root for a contender all year? i love the royals because i love kc, but i will turn my back on them if they don't start trying to win, rather than to just survive.

OH'S NO"S!

Personally, who could blame the kid? Look what he has (or hasn't done) for the SPOILS..how can anyone blame the poor kid?
The SPOILS rushed him up to the majors, thinking he and he alone was going to be their answer to all the talk around the league about how a pathetic an organization can fall, GOOD LORD... It's time, clear house.....get what you can from the overpaid people and just dump everybody, from the top (no, I'm not talking about take out pussy) :p all the way to the scouts.. It's time to start over, but as many have said, why care? Because I do. |
