Kiffin wasn't interested. Which was good.

The guy most of us liked, Rivera is staying with the Panthers.

No one likes Rob Ryan.

I was interested in Greene from GB, but he's never been a DC.

That is true, I'm just hoping Reid has learned from his mistakes.

I'm going to wait and see how it goes.

I do like the idea of playing a 1-gap.

I'm kind of glad Reid isn't just getting the band back together. Sometimes, in fact most of the time, having an all star staff, doesn't work.

I just remember Chris Berman calling him Eric "sleeping with" Bienemy on the NFL countdown highlights.

Good point. Being an Army guy, you would think discipline is a big part of his teaching. Aggressive and disciplined sounds pretty good to me.

THIS.

Taub is a great S&C coach.

I'm surprised there will be no Marty M.

Buehler445 01-11-2013 09:59 AM

Sweet. That's a better haul than I was expecting. As unexciting as the DC is, it is better than switching to some form of the Tampon 2 IMO.

Meh - Sutton.

Mediocre at best in NYJ when he was the DC, no better when he was the LB coach and a clear 3-4 candidate.

I was really hoping for a 4-3 guy with an actual track record of sustained success. Dutton's just a bleh coach that's not really

Sutton doesn't appear likely to bring anything to the table. He may not take anything off it (hard to say), but he sure doesn't look like a guy that's going to give you anything more than you already have. He's essentially the DC version of a game managing QB.

If he sucks we'll go out and get a better one next year. There isn't much to chose from right now. It's a process.

He was solid on Tecmo Super Bowl as well.

Seriously?? You didn't expect a little better, or more experience, at OC/DC/QB coach?

I thought Andy would get one recently fired head coach to be a coordinator.

DC - No great options there

OC - He's known Pederson for a long time. Stop crying.

So we went from hiring coaches from the Pats tree to the Eagles tree and throw in a 90-year old DC.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

BigMeatballDave 01-11-2013 10:05 AM

As with ANY HC, these guys are going to get people they KNOW and can be comfortable to work with.

Unlike ****stick who forces people on the HC.
