What are some inspiring things?

Things that make you want to become a better person.

- That scene from Dead Poet's Society with the carpe diem talk
- I used to be able to say learning about grand ideas, but now I'm sort of in this sad state of limbo where I've spent too much time in formal education to get surprised and moved by an idea
- Music? Sometimes. Erik Satie and Claude Debussy to some degree. Gregorian chant works at times.
- Poetry? No, I've never understood that form of writing.

From My Mother's sleep I fell into the State
And I hunched in its belly til my wet fur froze
Six miles from Earth
Loosed from its dream of life
I awoke to black flak and the nightmare fighters
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

As should be no surprise, I am an avid writer.

I love sitting at a blank screen, and just forcing words out of my finger tips.

The first few ideas are shit, but from those ideas I can detour off into great ones.

Writing is an incredible release. I feel incapable of being judged by any standard other than my own.

It is very freeing, and peaceful.

A man may fight for many things: his country, his principles, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock, and a sack of French porn.

That has some blatant inaccuracies, but it is pretty good. Definitely thought provoking and it stirs emotion.
