People can joke all they want about a punter being the team "MVP", but even on a good team a great punter can help win close games. Special teams are an integral part of a complete team.

Sure, a punter can help you win i guess with field position and being able to pin teams down inside the 10 or whatever.......but i think if you have a strong offfense and defense, the punter doesnt really matter all that much.
WHo punts for the 49ers and Ravens? I dont even know or care.... |
we pay one ****ing bum after another, but we won't pay someone who is literally the best at his position?
pick up an ax, drive to Cassel's house, kill him....get back in your car, drive to Jackson's house and repeat....then call Colquitt's agent |

Until you realize that 49ers punter Andy Lee is FIRST IN THE LEAGUE in net. Ravens punter Sam Koch is 8th. |

Also, Colquitt is not 'literally' the best at his position. He's not even the best in the division. He's a good punter but even a massive downgrade would barely be noticed if you put a decent offense on the field. All punters do is turn the ball over. That's it. The best punter is the one you never use. |
I love Colquit, but I'm not sure about paying a punter over 3 million a year.
In his case, I probably would...but I will understand if they don't. We can probably get the best punter from college in the 6th round and pay him 400,000 a year. |

Our new S/T coach from the Bears is probably begging to re-sign him.
|
Tag him.
|
BTW, im not saying dont keep him. Just at a reasonable price. If he walks, he walks...im not gonna cry over it.
