They looked uncoordinated and a bit out of sync but it wasn't awful.

Considering how breathless both of them sounded at times I was wondering if Daltry was going to be able to pull off that famous scream in Won't Get Fooled Again. Assuming that it wasn't electronically enhanced it sounded better than what I thought it would.

I loved it ... nostalgia, you know.

Daltry sounded great for a 70 year old guy and Townsend hit mostly the right notes for being stone deaf and all.

The only thing is that their songs need to be performed in their full length for total effect. Other than that, great job, Whos.

You must have pretty low standards.

I'd have to agree. "Uncoordinated and a bit out of sync"? The Octomom's coochie is tighter than that performance was. The bizarre duets at the Grammys were 1000 times better than that.

And it's got nothing to do with their age, frankly. They just flat-out sucked.

I don't see where I gave them rave reviews. I just said it wasn't awful. They kept it afloat enough not to embarrass themselves. All I did was give Daltry props for "the scream," assuming that it was all natural.

I never said it was a great performance. Geez, dude. It may not have been good but it wasn't as terrible as you are letting on.

We can agree to disagree. If they strung 10 notes together in a row that were actually in sync, with singing that was also in sync, I'd be shocked.

i think they should have MorningWood for next year's halftime show. :D

Welcome back.

I think it's pretty righteous that they'll be the selection, I think they performed a few yrs. back. They're really a good 'live' choice. Unlike the Stones, The Who actually still sound good. But missed their performance, I was in my car. (relocating @ the half)

You might want to FF through it on the Tivo.

I urge my fellow Planeteers to throttle back on the criticism. The Who are rock and roll legends. They were there in the beginning. They helped create the genre. The live ones are each over 100 years old.

Besides, 60s rock isn't about perfection. It's about playing with energy and a "Who gives a crap?" attitude. They accomplished that and I'm proud of the old bastards. You go, Who!
