What I did on my mini-vacation.

Wednesday - Road trip to St. Louis. Upon getting there, we park the car and head into the Cardinals/Nationals game. It's a grand time. We get nachos, watch our team win, and I even learned a few things from a chick sitting behind me talking to the guy she was there with: Football is nothing more than grown men wearing tights knocking each other over, and that takes no talent. Missouri apparently became a common law marriage state while I wasn't looking. Hair dressers have to hold themselves to a higher standard so that people feel more comfortable coming to them (I wouldn't have guessed she was a hair dresser). Also, while she didn't say so directly (just made references to it...a lot), she just wanted the guy to notice her cleavage.

Thursday - Touristy stuff. We walked to a diner we'd never heard of to have breakfast. The place kind of reminded me of a Waffle House (minus the waffles and pancakes), only with a little more of a diner feel. The three ladies that worked there were all sisters and had been there for over 30 years. We toured Busch Stadium. It's always cool to see all the clubs and sit in the dugout. There's currently no Hall of Fame until Cardinals Village opens in 2014, and we didn't get to see the locker room, but it was still fun and interesting. We ate at the 360 Club at the top of out hotel that afternoon. It's the one that looks down into Busch Stadium. It had spectacular view of St. Louis, but $11 for a California Roll was a little much. That evening, we went to the Rams/Niners game. I learned that it's smaller than it looks on tv, and that the roof only made it look smaller, but beers (although we didn't buy any in the stadium) are a quarter cheaper than at Arrowhead. The most important thing I learned is that we at Arrowhead are totally spoiled. I've never seen tailgating that was so dismal. If we ever have the opportunity to build a field in a downtown location, I say hell no.

Friday - Road trip home. Nothing special other than helping a friend tie dye some tshirts.

Saturday - Again, nothing special. Just went to and judged a poetry slam. Then helped dad stuff peppers for tailgating on Sunday. Actually got to sleep at 9pm.

Sunday - Woke up at 2:30. Left Springfield in RV at 3:30. Got to Arrowhead for early entry at 6:30. Had fun tailgating. You all watched the game, so you know how that went. It was actually fun to be at Arrowhead again! The crowd was into it, especially since they showed a decibel reading on the jumbo-tron when we were on defense. They advertised how we lost the title for loudest stadium in the NFL to Seattle and that we are going to attempt to regain it at the Raiders game on 10/13. I can't wait! Some of the people we go to games with have tickets in the front row of "Bowe's Corner" (as we've labeled it). After the game, Bowe and Sean Smith jumped into the stands for pictures and Smith gave one of his gloves to a 14 year old in our group. It was a great day, and a great way to cap off a great mini-vacation.

This morning, upon walking into the office, I found a mound of work piled on my desk. After making myself a cup of coffee, I've sorted through it, got a few things done, and I guess need to get back to it.

Ugh. Is it Friday yet?

More wild weekends are needed from you.. up yo game! Where's the drinking? mud-wrestling? nude pillow-fights?

Welp... welcome back to the grind. 4-0 will make you smile through all the work. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/3193/vikeslogo.gif

I am glad you enjoyed your time in STL.

In 360 you should've tried their wood fried pizza. Good stuff and good view.

When you say y'all are spoiled with tailgating at Arrowhead, you have no idea just how true that is. I've been to 14 or 15 other stadiums now, and Arrowhead is far and away the best. Downtown stadiums are terrible for tailgating. New Orleans is perfect proof of that. How a city that parties that much can have such shitty tailgating, I'll never understand.

It's almost as if I was there.

Since you were in St Louis, you should have had a "Missouri Roll".

Chili Mac's. Couldn't remember the name as I was typing.

You win the satisfaction of knowing you were right.

It really was an awesome extended weekend. I hadn't been in St. Louis in probably 10 years, and the only places I went then were Barnes Jewish, the hotel, and the President's Casino. Hanging around downtown was pretty cool. We parked, and walked the entire time we were there. Downtown St. Louis was pretty cool. Wish I would have taken Coffee up on his offer to have drinks that Wednesday night. Also, dad didn't feel like stopping to tour the brewery because he'd done it before. I haven't been able to do so since I was old enough to enjoy it. Next time I'm there, I'm having drinks with Coffee and touring the brewery.
