Heath McNease might be the best rapper on earth right now...

...and he just released a free 21-track mixtape. If you haven't heard this dude and you like hip-hop, you're missing out.

Um, not sure Heath is black.

Unconvinced by the songs I've listened to so far, but dude can certainly rap. His flow wears his influences on his sleeve, though. He sounds like Kool AD mixed with Yelawolf, with a bit of El-P's inflection thrown in.

Well I'll be damned, you're right.

CrazyPhuD 02-21-2013 03:41 PM

Well he is white...that at least makes him more legit than the other rappers!

Molitoth 02-21-2013 05:16 PM

Well, I'll start with I'm not a fan of hip hop at all.
That said; after listening to a few tracks I have to say he's got a voice that pulls me in.

I also like that he uses beats that are familiar from older popular songs... the thing with that is that is really all not that respectable to use someone else's song/beats and just change up some of the lyrics. Realistically it just doesn't take as much effort as building a song from scratch.

It was very interesting to go listen to the other EP he has "losing-daylight" that is acoustic based light melodic, something very far from hip hop. I think he's a pretty good singer on that EP, probably a better path for him than hip hop.

Oh, and his producer needs to throw a de-esser on him a lot more often...

Best Rapper on earth? I think not.

This is a mixtape. Rappers use other beats for these all the time. As long as they give it away for free it's legit. He uses his own beats on other albums though.

If you liked his acoustic stuff, check out The Weight of Glory and The House Always Wins. Also great albums. The dude is a remarkably talented singer and a remarkably talented rapper. Very rare.

Check out the song "Amare Stoudemire." There are very few rappers who can hang with those rhyme schemes.
