I used to love the Charlton Heston version as a kid.

Am I the only one afraid this will get "I, Robot"ed? "I am Legend" is a pillar of the scifi genre, not that I don't like Smith but I'm worried about the finished product.

I like Will Smith my self he can pretty much do any kinda role.

Is this a remake of "Omega Man"?

A movie based on the book Omega Man is based on. Not a remake, per se. Omega Man wasn't that faithful to the original book, who knows about this version.

I Am Legend is the greatest horror novel ever written, IMO.
