Maybe they'll hire someone who actually reveals the score of the game more than twice per 9 innings.

Bob Davis: "Bottom of the 8th, and the Tigers are in a jam here. Royals have runners at 2nd and 3rd with just one out. It's been a competitive game so far and both teams have done damage, but this might be the Royals chance to break it open."

Me: "THE SCORE, BOB!? WHAT THE **** IS THE SCORE!!!!!????"

Although I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed laughing at his baseball broadcasts early in the season when he was still used to calling games at the fast pace of college basketball.

One of the worst bits of his announcing went something like this:

"And there's a grounder to..(LONG PAUSE)..the shortstop who gloves it..long throw..OUT AT FIRST BASE!" (Bob, it's Escobar! Escobar! Not only is it the 8th inning and Escobar's been our shortstop the entire game but it's freakin' July and our shortstop's been Escobar since Opening Day!)

I went to college with Tommy. Nice guy and he has a great voice for baseball broadcasts.
