Not that I'm complaining, but can someone tell me how it is that you can throw the ball off a guy standing out of bounds and get the ball? If he's already out of play how can it be out on him?

If you're standing out of bounds in contact with the ball, it's the other team's possession.

I don't think you're ever out of play if you're one of the active 5 guys on/off the court. Ball hits you when you're OOB, other team gets the ball.
