You'd be surprised. Whenever the pit boss feels luck is on the players side at a table they switch the dealers. I've seen it happen a thousand times.

I still don't see how that helps in a game like 3 card. Burning a card in the middle of a blackjack shoe can change the way the cards are falling, but 3 card is hypothetically a random shuffle every time.

ROFL yeah, they were worried about you taking down the house.

When I was in my early 20's, I had a lot of money from both my job and some real estate investments. I used to go to Atlantic City with as much as $5,000.

I once won $27,000 and the Playboy hotel took real good care of me, including hooking me up with escorts.

I also lost $10,000 once and $5,000 several times so in the end, most things balanced out.

I also once won $6,500 starting with only $250 playing baccarat at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe at 4 in the morning. I sent $5,000 home with a buddy to give to my Dad and took an extra $1,500 to my vacation in Bora Bora Tahiti.

My youth was a lot better than my last 15 years

A couple things:

1. Did the money make it back to your dad?

2. How was Bora Bora? Was it everything I've dreamed of?

1. Yes, my buddy is very honest and my biggest worry was the plane crashing fron San Fran to NJ

2. Bora Bora was awesome. I was there in 1986 before all the over-the-water fancy hotels. I stayed at a place called the Oa Oa Hotel that was owned by a couple from California. Great food and awesome beach.
Diving was incredible with the sharks and octopus all over, Bloody Mary's was really cool, the trip takes forever to get there.
The only negative was that the morning of my departure, the space shuttle Challenger exploded and it was a somber trip home.

Chief Pote 01-01-2014 08:31 PM

I was at a business conference and in the packet of info I got a coupon for a roll of quarters at the casino. You had to cash in for a roll and they give you a roll. So....I'm up ten bucks the minute I walk in. Keep in mind this is my first and last time in a casino. My son is a poker dealer for a large casino, but I have zero interest in gambling, except for fantasy football(<- cuz I'm skilled). Anyway, I go to the slots and try to give them back the ten bucks and find out why others are fascinated with slots. I played for about 30 minutes and got bored. I ended up leaving with around 5 bucks to the good. I tried.

HonestChieffan 01-01-2014 08:33 PM

$11,000

Craps table in Vegas. Im sure I lost $11,000 over the years before and after but I kicked ass for $11,000

pr_capone 01-01-2014 08:45 PM

A couple of hundred at a casino at most. I once won $2,300 in about 8 hours of work at a private Hold'em game.

RedDread 01-01-2014 08:46 PM

$3,300 over the course of a weekend playing Double Deck, biggest single hand was a Straight Flush for $3,000 playing Mississippi Stud.

I love me some Mississippi Stud, but I have never seen a hand better than a full house. All the dealers are shocked, because apparently quads aren't all that uncommon.

Yeah, I've seen quads 6 times at the table. One of them would have been mine. Dude sat down in front of me (in order of the cards being dealt) on the hand it hit. Since the dealer pushed his three cards first at the casino I was at, it would have been mine. He just gave me that all-knowing look as everyone else was high-fiving at the table.

Hate that shit, one of my biggest fears. But you wouldn't have been pissed if the cards landed on you because he sat down, so what do you do.

Jewish Rabbi 12-09-2014 03:21 PM

Finally hit quads today after 2+ years of playing Mississippi Stud. $1600!

JD10367 12-09-2014 03:30 PM

$2500 on a quarter slot in Vegas on my honeymoon in '04.

lcarus 12-09-2014 03:39 PM

I went to Vegas one time in my life so far, and I think I won about 500 my first night from Hold'em

I hit two royal flushes on $1 video poker within a couple hours at the old Flamingo casino here in KC. That's $4K each win. I had never hit one on a $1 machine and about shit myself when it hit.

They took FOREVER paying the second one. I'm sure they were inspecting the video to see if I was cheating.

At the Mirage in LV, I had about 10 minutes to wait for one of those Cirque shows to start to so I put $20 into one of those penny slot machines. There's like eleventy million paylines so it is impossible to follow what the hell is going on. Second spin, it says "see attendant for payout." I had no idea what I had won. $5600. Only time I've ever hit for more than maybe $50 on a slot machine.

I think it was something like $30 when they first opened limited stakes in Colorado. Satisfied my curiosity. I can't imagine why I'd ever go to a casino again. I've been through Vegas several times, but I've never tried any gaming there. That town reeks of depression, IMHO.

TLO 12-09-2014 04:07 PM

Osage Casino was my favorite. I had family that lived in Tulsa, and would drop $50- $100 everytime I went to visit.

My main bet was $5. I had pocket 5's so I did x3 on 3rd street, but dealer showed a 3 so I was only able to go 1x on 4th. Then obviously 3x on fifth street, so my overall wager was $40. Stupid 3 in the middle cost me $400, but I can't complain after a hit like that.

I'd you go back home let me know, and maybe I'll make a trip out and we'll gamble. If not, when you turn 21 I'll meet you up at harrah's and we'll drink in the diamond lounge.

jLoy88 12-09-2014 04:42 PM

Used to be a game called three little pigs in Mesquite, (not there anymore). In the game there was a random chance to get like 5 free spins off your roll, i did $10 credits and on my third spin I got the free bonus. During the free bonus spins I got 2 more 5 free rolls... All in all I paid $30 and got about 19 spins from the bonus, when it finally finished like 10 minutes later I had 850$ in credit, was the best feeling in the world the rest of the trip... (Although I probably went on to lose 500$ of the winnings to drunken tipping and not quitting while ahead)

Hopefully not. Hopefully I stay away for a while!

That was my first hand of the day. Left the table after that. Stuck $40 into slots, turned that into $200, and left.

"Lost" with 4 kings to a royal flush playing hi/lo Omaha.
Got half of the "bad beat" jackpot, just over 20K.

I've had tons of poker nights winning $1500+. I've walked out of the Harrahs poker room up a couple g's a few times. I put $400 in my pokerstairs account and ran that up to $5600 one weekend.

I once put $300 into my bodog account and ran it up over 4k only to lose it all within 30 minutes with AK v JJ both hands.

The night I won that progressive jackpot at prairie band was so ****ing surreal though.

Keno

I hit 1500 twice in two months and Saturday I hit a grand.

It's the best game to play if it's offered by your states lotto. It reciprocates nicely, usually.

What's even harder to believe is about three weeks after the 50k - I then hit 9-10 playing a ten spot - that fetched 5k - one more number would have been 100k

MelGrif 02-24-2020 02:53 AM

$500 and I spent less than $20 on a slot machine. I like playing games, I but I do this for fun and use only safe sites (here https://slots-park.com/ helps me a lot). Also I won $200 playing blackjack and $100 playing on a penny machine.

scho63 02-24-2020 04:33 AM

Won a little over $22,000 once at Playboy Casino in Atlantic City. I used to gamble a LOT back in the 80's when I had a lot of money.

I also lost close to $27,000 another time.

Spott 02-24-2020 05:45 AM

$31.25.

Danguardace 02-24-2020 05:49 AM

Most I won was £7000 in a British Casino

ChiTown 02-24-2020 06:56 AM

$4,200 over the course of an evening playing mostly blackjack

In a single hand? $3,500. Placed $100 on black 17 in Roulette and hit it. It was my last $100 in my pocket and it was ~2am and I was headed back from Vegas to Chicago that morning on a 6am flight. I was down ~$1700 prior to that bet. True story.

That was all back in my 20’s and early 30’s, before I had kids. I no longer gamble.

Perineum Ripper 02-24-2020 08:30 AM

I was in Boonville waiting for someone, drove to the casino. Put $20 in the slot machine, first spin popped $4500. I cashed out and left.

First and only time I have ever been in a casino.

BWillie 02-24-2020 08:32 AM

$57,000 most I've won playing poker in a day.

I've lost $11,000 before playing 25/50 No Limit Holdem.

Most I've won not playing poker was prom night at an Indian Casino in Iowa. $700. Most I've lost not playing poker was about $400 on Black Jack at Caesars palace.

If you are ever in Tulsa and gamble at the Hard Rock, meander a few minutes to Catoosa and see the famous "Blue Whale of Catoosa". It's a national landmark. I'm not even mocking, I don't think.

JohnnyHammersticks 02-24-2020 09:15 AM

First time I went to Vegas I took $800. Wasn't even legally old enough to gamble (by a few months) but no one ever ID'd me. Playing only blackjack, I turned the $800 into $6400 in less than 24 hours.

Unfortunately, I then proceeded to turn the $6400 into $200 over the course of the next few days. Was attending Mizzou at the time and didn't even have a car. That $6400 would've bought a nice one back in those days. Expensive lesson learned, lol.

Willie - how does forfeiting a bonus on Bovada work? I have about $1300 + a $500 bonis in my account. I want to withdraw but it's locked to the 5x rollover casino bonus. I've just been sports betting and playing small stakes poker with it. If I forfeit the bonus, they will just take back the $500 in bonus funds + anything I've won with the bonus, correct? That will leave me my initial deposit, $ won sports betting and playing in the poker room?

Yes. You should be able to just email support, let them know you want to forfeit it. There is likely a small play thru requirement before you withdraw, but it is not difficult to meet and sounds like you likely already did enough play.

The thing is, and I fully admit it's my fault for depositing while shitfaced and not reading the fine print, the playthrough requirement is only in their online casino games. Blackjack, baccarat, slots ect, and excludes the live dealer feature. I don't believe it's possible to play $2500 (5x rollover on $500) thru the casino on their stipulations and make a profit. I've never had a session on the casino games end in profit outside of hitting and running the baccarat table.

If I could play poker or sports bet that would be a different story.

$300, in what seemed like a blink of an eye. Went to an Indian casino near Syracuse. Playing low stakes blackjack on a $10 minimum table. The dealer was a surly prick with zero personality, which didn't help at all. If I had an 18, he drew a 19. If I had a 19, he drew a 20. I doubled down with 10 against a six and the ****er drew 21. Worst run of luck I ever had. I think I only won one hand.

It was also on my birthday. Felt like Custer walking out of there. :cuss:

I believe the most I've won was $1800 on black jack. Ended up in the Henderson jail for the night.

Lost $100 to Hootie once.

Rain Man 02-24-2020 04:53 PM

The most I've ever won was about $200 on a slot machine. The funny thing is that it was a penny slot machine. I was just killing time after taking my parents to one of the mountain casinos. (I'm really not into casinos at all, so I went up and had some buffet meal and was waiting for them to spend everything.)

The most I've ever lost was about $20, because losing more than that would make me mad.

Now...powerball tickets...I've lost $10 on those a large number of times, and I've never won more than $4.

I've never been in a casino. It's not that I wouldn't, it's just not that appealing to play games that I know are stacked against me.

I did drive up to Ak-sar-ben a couple times back in the day. Both times I hit perfectas on the last race of the day and ended up in the black. That was fun. I was glad I did not have easy access to the track because I could see how I could get drawn in.

I play mostly Blackjack and the three times I've won over 800 bucks each time was when was in a hurry and had a deadline to leave the table.

Once I was speaking at a conference in an off-strip casino. I had 30 minutes to kill before the meeting. I sat at an empty $3 table, got hot, started playing two hands, then three hands with $100 on each. Had $1300 and said "I have to go, I'm speaking upstairs in five minutes" Pitboss says "Tell 'em how great our tables are."

Flip side: We were at a company holiday party in Los Angeles, Party shuts down at 11pm. I say "We can't stop partying now, its only 11 pm...LET'S DRIVE TO VEGAS!

I drove (dumb idea) and we got to state line at 3:00 am. I emptied my ATM of $400 and lost it at various tables in less than an hour and we drove back home everyone asleep, me pissed off and hung over. WORST NIGHT EVER>
