What's your traditional holiday dinner?

Does your family do a traditional (Christmas, Chanukah, etc.) dinner? Or do you do a dinner based on family history?

We do a Swedish dinner at home for Christmas and I'm heading out tonight for a "Sons of Norway" dinner in Mission Hills. It's Scandinavian food, not solely Norwegian food and sans lutefisk.

Just curious if your dinner is turkey/ham with typical sides, or some interesting foods from the homeland.

Haven't done a traditional holiday meal for years. I made chicken noodle soup on Thanksgiving and will likely make chili on Christmas.

Tamales on my Mom's side. I have been making a Gumbo, crab cakes, and shrimp brochettes for the past four or five years on Christmas Eve. Not this year though, back to tamales. Topped off with a ton of booze of course!

Naturally.

Traditional in our family. Turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.

I remember my neighbors making tamales every year, an awesome tradition. We always had turkey and/or ham. My Mom always gave everyone a choice before the big day, we got to choose a side dish or dessert, whatever. I knew there'd be good desserts and so on anyway so I usually asked for dilly bread. Now that you've reminded me, I may need to make this one myself from now on.

(Note - this calls for you to add dill seed to a stiff dough. That is NOT the same thing as a stiff dildo. In case there was any confusion)

Keystone Light? I don't drink it... I mean I have... I just named it because of it's place as a skank beer. I won't judge you though.

Since it looks like it is just going to be me again and the dogs this year whatever I feel like.
