After watching Ordinary People(Won best picture of 1980), I've wondered what other movies I've missed out on.

What do I need to see?

Eraserhead is the greatest movie of all time.

How High

Crazy People with Dudley Moore, Daryl Hannah, and Paul Reiser just to balance things out.

Does it hold up? I havent seen that in ages.

Raging Bull you should watch from the same year.

There's like over 100 years of movies. Could you help us out at all, what you've seen, what you like, what you don't.

This is a bit like saying 'I just ate a hamburger, what other foods should I eat?'

when you get to 1982 movies, you gotta see The Thing

Yes, it holds up very well. The acting on all parts is great and the plot is one that is still applicable, for the most part, to a situation today.

And as for where to start, I honestly have no clue.

The Ghost and the Darkness. Great movie. (Somewhat) true story.
Last of the Mohicans. Probably have seen it, but I missed it. Definitely worth a look.
8 days a week. Pretty hokey at times, but for what it is, it's pretty profound. Plus Kerri Russell.
Smokin Aces. In case you missed it.
Fly Boys. Pretty unheralded, but outstanding. It's WWI so it doesmt resonate like WWIII movies, but it is great. Franco kills it.
