I wonder if the the Raiders would try and leapfrog the Jags for either Floyd or Jordan.

no, you have the LUXURY of drafting a qb if you want. Qb is not a need for the chiefs this year. Alex Smith is a serviceable albeit, non exciting option. And you never draft for NEED. you draft BPA. Thats how teams stay great.....

The NFL is all about playmakers at the quarterback position these days, so **** serviceable. Get me a playmaker at the position.

QB is definitely still a need. We have a 28 year old QB who has only played a full season twice in his career and is only under a 2 year contract.

well, then you have two years to grab a qb correct?

You keep saying this, but very few people actually think the Jaguars would draft Geno Smith. Myself included. If anything the Eagles leaping us to take Geno would make it so the Jaguars could still trade down to someone who wants Joeckel/Fisher, and still be able to snatch Dion Jordan since the Eagles won't be there to take him.

The Gabbert era has just begun me thinks.

Because waiting on the unknown is a great way to do business.

agreed. But, if they dont deem there is a play maker, then would you spend the pick anyway?

Not with the #1 pick in the draft

It is in a WIN now situation. And yes, with their moves, the chiefs are win now mode. They arent like the jags or raiders, and are trying to build from the floor up. The chiefs are wanting to get better right now today......

houstonwhodat 03-29-2013 11:58 AM

Man if you have the #1 pick I say you have to go after the best player out there.

Preferably a QB.

No one is trading up for Geno either, but it hasn't stopped the discussions here.

You have 6 teams in the top 10 that beg to differ. People reaching for QBs every year isn't a discussion as much a time honored tradition.

Oh, i agree completely. I completely agree. 100%. Im just not sure that anyone believes that Geno Smith is a franchise qb. I personally have nothing against the guy. I like him a hell of a lot more than I like Barkley or just about any other qb in this draft save Glennon. Glennon is just a big tall guy with a huge arm. Id prefer my qb to have a rocket......

And who is going to step in and make this team better in our "Win Now" mode?

Joeckel? ROFL Nothing says "Win Now" like trading your veteran LT and protecting your QB with a rookie.

Who are these 6 teams?

The Raiders/Bills that are still linked to Matt Flynn?

The Bills who are heavily interested in Ryan Nassib and are now apparently interested in Kevin Kolb?

The Eagles who have really shown little to no interest in any QBs due to them having Vick/Dixon/Foles

The Browns have already signed Cambell to go with Weeden. Plus they stated going into camp Weeden is the starting QB.

Arizona has already stated numerously that they are not taking a QB in the first round.
