I could see Priest being our Marcus Allen next year.
short yardage duties and goalline carries. I don't think priest would mind handing LJ the bulk of the load while priest racks up the cheap scores. And I don't think LJ would have a problem with this, as I think he just wants the bulk of the carries.
I think this combo could be o our benefit next year. Thoughts? eta: Priest also would be better at blocking for trent in passing situations... |
i just want priest back for one last call

If they take LJ out in the redzone, a major shitstorm will result.

The only way this situation is going to work out with Holmes still on the roster. Would be if he does what Faulk did in St. Louis, where he voluntered to take a paycut and be the backup.

Heck, if they do that, Priest might reset that touchdown record next year. Of course LJ will get his touchdowns to, they will just ne from 10-20 or more yards out

he'll just have to score from outside 10. Priest still has a nose for the endzone, and I think having him focus on getting in the endzone might play to his strengths. |
I am not going to get into this debate.

I think Priest will retire anyway.

I'd be happy just to have Priest make it through a whole season!

I thought that they should have done it this year. I think so even more now. LJ is doing great, but we kicked 3 field goals in a row from inside the 20 against NE. I think with Priest we get TD's on at least 2. Didnt matter then, but with this tough stretch ahead, it might. Had we used Priest only in short yardage and goal to go situations, he would probably be available now.

The thing that I am afraid of is Priest coming back and being anointed the starter. That's total BS.
