If Daniel has to start because Smith sucks or injury, it's a 1 year deal that can be voided by the player.

The base salary is low this year but almost doubles next year.

It's also 2 million in dead money, not 4. You think a 2 million dollar dead money hit is really going to impact any future plans for the QB situation?

Teams look at money spent by position as a group, not by individuals. Draft Geno, keep A Smiff and Daniel and we still aren't spending a ton at QB.

I know chase can get out of deal and it's 4m in dead money. 3m in 2014 and 1m in 2015 if they cut him.
