Which is more important?
Hypothetical situation - you have two job options before you - one is job "A" that doesn't particularly excite you but the pay is great (think $60k/yr) and benefits are decent and the other is job "B" that excites you to go to work everyday and has great benefits but the pay is marginal at best (Think $38K/yr). All other things being equal which job would you choose? Is the idea of loving your job more important than money or are you all about the benjamins?
Pole to follow. |
$22,000 is a lot of Benjamins...

Nothing exciting about either of those options. Next.

An important factor in the equation is how many people depend on you.

I voted A . Do you think I'd jerk off a pig for chump change ?????

I'd say a $22,000 difference in pay is pretty significant in any of the 50 states |

I think it depends on the benefits package in this scenario. Are we assuming them the same? Although 60k is way different than 38k as far as comfortable living. Not sure the later is sustainable long term for many people. |

This post makes me want to vote B now. |

The difference between $38k and $60k is the difference between having money to enjoy life outside of work and having enough to get by.
I guess the question is, would Job A be so exciting that you wouldn't care about having much of a life aside from work? |
