I like the idea of a skills comp, replace the pro-bowl with that.

Agents will never allow their players to participate in such "competitions" ever again, especially QB's.

A skills competition would be awesome.

Near death injury to Patriots running back Robert Edwards.

The guy nearly lost his leg in a pre-game festivity.

Oh Shit. I forgot about that.

BigMeatballDave 10-23-2012 12:20 AM

His knee was bent like 90' the wrong way.

Gruesome.

I remember when it happened. The doctors initially thought that they would have to amputate his leg because there was so much damage to his femoral artery.

BryanBusby 10-23-2012 12:26 AM

Oh god, I remember that now. Yeah that was nasty as hell.

wow yea. All these RBs that blow out their knees in the NFL knowadays can usually have surgery and not have too many big permanent pain/injury. Take JC, he's baclk to being a beast again. Mustve been exremely bad for Robert Edwards.

Actually anyone remember exactly how it happened when he was playing flag football? His foot get caught on someone/thing or something?

The best part about the story, other than the doctors saving his leg and his brief return to the NFL, is that Robert Kraft immediately said that he'd cover Edwards' rookie contract, regardless of whether or not he ever played again.

Say what you will about the Patriots but I thought that was a class move all the way.

As much as people here hate the Patriot Way, I think they'd kill to have an owner like Robert Kraft.
