Tree Planting
I went a little crazy yesterday and bought a much of good sized trees for my house. We built it in 2010 but have yet to landscape, so I have a blank canvas.
Anyway, I bought 15 trees or so and need to get them in the ground. Any advice in how the best way to do this is. I'm not going to use a shovel and do it by hand. What do i need to rent or how expensive is it to have it done? Thanks. |

use an auger to start, then finish by hand to avoid over digging. Call around asking for a toro dingo. home depot here has them.

Depends if you bought bare root or BB's....
But in general: http://www.roseville.ca.us/images/el...ng_detail1.gif |
Call in locates 2 full business days before digging. In most states it's the law.

This is not official so I will not comment, except to ask what the hell is a much of good sized trees?
Please post answer in official thread. |
It takes about 5 years before you get a good crop of shoes.

How big are they?
What kind of soil type? Did you call before you dig? |
1-800-dig-rite. It's the law.

I have some trees that are 3 inches in diameter, some 2 inch, and a couple big boys that are 5-6 inch.
All are root balls wrapped in burlap. Had a nursery auction right by my house yesterday. |
