NFL Draft Could Get Prime-Time TV Slot In 2010
Next April the NFL is considering giving the first round its own day – and a prime-time television slot. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday the league was investigating the possibility of staging the first round of the 2010 draft on a Thursday evening, then conducting the second and third rounds Friday evening and the final four rounds Saturday. The event would remain the cable television domain of ESPN and the NFL Network. "We're more confident now with the timing of the first round that it can fit a 3-1/2-hour window," Goodell said. "We think it can be very appealing from a fan's standpoint and an audience standpoint." :hmmm:

That'd be a terrible idea. The current schedule is fine.

It might be a terrible idea, but they will make themselves even more stinking rich by charging premium prices for commercial slots.

That way the Chiefs drafts can be declared miserable failures on Chiefs Planet 2 days earlier.

I won't mind that if they put a ****ing clause on it that there has to be NO commericals. I hate that shit.

Teams might like this because there would be more time to make deals and reevaluate draft boards.

Boring! Even this year was just drug out with only 1&2 on the 1st day.

One round, per day, for a week, all in Prime Time. MILK THAT CASH COW ESPN!!!!!!! MILK IT!!!!!
