Rank These Talents (Mid Round ILBs)
According to how you think the Chiefs should rank them:
Hayes Pullard, USC Taiwan Jones, Michigan State Mike Hull, Penn State Jake Ryan, Michigan Ramik Wilson, Georgia Bryce Hager, Baylor Zach Vigil, Utah State Ben Heeney, Kansas Trey DePriest, Alabama |
Not that excited about some of the missing ILBs on that list.
1. Taiwan Jones - best thumper of this bunch, but not useless in coverage for short zones. (rd 4) 2. Ramik Wilson - thicker than I first thought. Solid all around game. 3. Bryce Hager - smooth in transition.. might get too engulfed. I like Pullard, Heeney and Hull, but think they may not fit so well in a 34. In fact none of these options, except for Jones, are ideal for disengaging off the blocks that will come their way. Check out a LB named Kevin Snyder. He's off everyone's radar, and could be a real gem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CzcxllStSA Quote:
Also a fan of Jordan Hicks and Martrell Spaight early on day 3. |
1. Zach Vigil, Utah State
2. Terrance Plummer, UCF 3. Bryce Hager, Baylor 4. David Mayo, Texas State 5. Ramik Wilson, Georgia 6. Taiwan Jones, Michigan State 7. Mike Hull, Penn State 8. Damien Wilson, Minnesota 9. Steve Edmund, Texas 10. A.J. Johnson, Tennessee (would move up depending upon his pending status as a long term guest of the Tennessee Department of Corrections) Honorable Mention: Jeff Luc, Cincinatti |
Now that I've made my pick in the CP mock, I think the Chiefs will view all of those players as guys who lack a crucial component to playing ILB in a 3-4, whether that's something that can be coached up or not.
Out of all of them, Zach Vigil seems to be the most balanced while also possessing some elite traits in his play recognition. They can all probably play special teams, but if they're looking for somebody to do more than that and 2-down blocker containment, Zach Vigil probably comes the closest to being that player. |
1. Jake Ryan, Michigan
2. Mike Hull, Penn State 3. Zach Vigil, Utah State 4. Ramik Wilson, Georgia 5. Bryce Hager, Baylor 6. Hayes Pullard, USC 7. Taiwan Jones, Michigan State 8. Ben Heeney, Kansas 9. Trey DePriest, Alabama |
1) Pullard
2) Ryan 3) Wilson 4) Vigil 5) Jones 6) DePriest 7) Hull 8) Hager 9) Heeney JMO. |
1. Vigil
2. Plummer 3. Jones 4. Johnson (talent only) 5. Ryan 6.Pullard 7. Wilson 8. Hull 9. Hicks 10. Depriest terrance plummer should be on this list. |
2013 season I liked AJ Johnson a lot but the more I watched him the slower he seemed.
BTW you left out Perryman as a mid round ILB. |
