**** OFFICIAL 2015 Flopnut's Fatties Weight-loss Thread****

We didn't do it last year but we did it two years ago and I'm bringing it back. Post in here if you want to drop some poundage and I'll add you to the main post. Set yourself a goal and then post in here to be held accountable. If you want....we can track your weight-loss all year long and then crown a winner at the end of the year. I know in the past that posters have put up prizes (not necessary).

Let's do this shit....

FYI: This is not a thread to start arguments over which way is the best way to lose weight. There are different ways for different people. Keep the stupid shit out of this thread.

I signed up for a Bigger Loser challenge here at work. Weigh ins are next Tuesday. I'll post what I'm at next week.

Rain Man 01-05-2015 04:55 PM

I'm at 186 right now and want to get to 172.

OnTheWarpath15 01-05-2015 04:56 PM

Starting weight: 206

Goal: 185 (by end of March)

Now, let me finish this last Dr. Pepper.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-05-2015 04:58 PM

In.

Starting weight: 210
Goal weight: 185 (end of May)

Mr. Flopnuts 01-05-2015 04:59 PM

I'm considering throwing down 100 bucks for the winner. Or a ticket to a CHUEFS playoff game if they make it. Has to be official though, and an all year long contest. Winner must lose 15% of their initial body weight. Basically, I want to reward a dedicated, year long, loser. :D

I'm in. No scales for me though. This is about lifestyles for me anymore. I'll show my work through pictures. It's noticeable over time. Y'all have seen it before.

LET'S DO THIS SHIT! I've been at it since the middle of December, but I'm drinking way too much still. A new challenge in a lifelong battle...

loochy 01-05-2015 05:05 PM

Why do you buy into the body shaming that the mainstream media and fitness industry have created? REAL MEN HAVE CURVES! BE PROUD!

Are you loading up for the initial weigh-in? You could probably gain 8-10 pounds in water weight by Tuesday.

MagicHef 01-05-2015 05:07 PM

I'll do it. I'm at 192, want to get to 175.

If I win, do I have to take the Chiefs tickets?

NewChief 01-05-2015 05:08 PM

I'm at about 200 lbs (I haven't weighed in at gym in a while).

I want to be the leanest I've been in years by spring break. That would be 180 lbs by Mid-March.

BigRedChief 01-05-2015 05:21 PM

Okay, I'm in. Last time I was in one of these we had a shit ton of people lose a bunch of weight. Like Der Flopper, no scales for me either. Proof is in the pics.

TLO 01-05-2015 05:23 PM

I'm actually very happy with where I'm at weight wise right now. Good luck to you trying to lose some lbs!

notorious 01-05-2015 05:29 PM

I will weigh-in with the Wii later. I usually get up to 215 this time of year. Since I put in wood floors and refinish them the weight will fly off.

I am going to go to my normal 150-200g protein, <25g fat, and <2000 calories a day diet. With normal work I should drop around 1 to 1/2 pound a day for the first 2 weeks, than it will slightly taper.

Looking forward to it. I hate how I feel when I fatten up during the holidays.

If you are feeling down about progress, weigh yourself in the morning to give yourself a boost.

Coochie liquor 01-05-2015 06:32 PM

I'm at 185. Started my new year work out regimen today. Goal weight is 170. Attempting to start out with 4 30 min workouts a week with dumbells (no, not him, the weights) and work up to longer workouts with heavier weights. Good luck reaching your goals everyone!

OnTheWarpath15 01-05-2015 06:39 PM

Change mine to mid-March as well and NewChief and I can race.

My goal was driven by Spring Break as well, which starts on March 23.

KC native 01-05-2015 08:09 PM

This morning I was at 202.

Goal is 175.

I will not be focusing on weight loss until after June (taking the ****ing level 2 CFA exam again) but given that I will have a few adderol binges in the next 6 months, I'll probably drop some weight anyways.

Not sure how realistic 175 is given the muscle that I've added in the last few months and that I've been keeping my calories at 1700 a day for the most part for awhile now (holidays excluded. I gained 10 ****ing pounds since xmas week).

I will check the scale once a week until June. So I guess I'm in.

lewdog 01-05-2015 08:12 PM

I'm waiting to cut weight until it gets closer to pool season.

Right now my milkshake is bringing all the boys to the yard.

Dayze 01-05-2015 08:14 PM

I need to weight my fat ass. I'd like to lose probably 30/40 by the first part of August if it's reasonable. Already made some changes. Exercise will be on the horizon too

I'll probably participate in this thread once I get a weigh in.

cabletech94 01-05-2015 08:20 PM

went to the doc last Tuesday. to my humiliation I was up to 231. it's been a very stressful 6 months. my cholesterol was nuts too, but not the worst that is ever been, not by a long shot.

my goal is 200. just because that's a nice round number. I was at 190 3 1/2 years ago before my knee surgery. 200 is a realistic goal.

I admire you guys and your determination.

Hammock Parties 01-05-2015 08:26 PM

If I lost 15% of my body weight I'd be a 150-pound weakling. No thanks.

Good luck guys. Being fat is wrong.

Bowser 01-05-2015 08:26 PM

I need to lose more than all of you. Someone decided to pull the inflatable ripcord on my gut and ass. I've never been so heavy in my life, and it has dealt me a serious blow psychologically. The good news is that today was my first day in another fat boy challenge....

Buehler445 01-05-2015 08:43 PM

I need to be in on this, but I have to get some health things lined out first. I've never weighed this much (before I got the barfs a week or so ago).

I'll check in from time to time to keep my ass in check. Good luck men.

It's been a minute since we saw each other apparently, haha.

Reached my fitness goals a few years ago, felt pretty good about everything, and then just decided to reward myself by turning into a human garbage disposal. My next goal - MAINTAINING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE ONCE I GET THERE. AGAIN.

The good news is I know how to do it all properly - exercise, diet, focus - so I know I can do it again. Especially now that I've made my mind up to do it. Again.

Just don't buy bad shit and keep it in the house.

I used to buy chips and queso all the time. You can pack on 1,000 calories in 20 minutes eating that shit.

I NEVER buy either anymore...if I want chips and queso I get it at a restaurant. And the expense of that deters me from doing it too often.

And don't drink calories.

Frosty 01-05-2015 10:10 PM

I'm in though not weighing myself until Wednesday. I would love to get to 170 lbs but I don't know if that is realistic within a year's time.

Yep! I was 420 pounds at the beginning of 2014...changed my life in how I eat and my activity level.

No surgery, no pills, no crash diets, no shortcuts. But still a ways to go!

-King- 01-05-2015 10:59 PM

Too much shit food lately. Pretty crazy how fast things can get out of hand.

Anything below 195 on my body is skinny as **** so, I'm going for 195.

Hammock Parties 01-05-2015 11:04 PM

soup
eggs
tuna
poverty chicken (skinless)
canned vegetables
oatmeal
hummus
fresh fruit
popcorn

That's basically what I eat. I save the decadent eating for nights out.

Great thing about most of that shit...really easy to count calories. And while some people loathe doing that, once you get into a routine, it becomes secondhand.

Hammock Parties 01-05-2015 11:06 PM

Oh and celery, too. Lots of celery.

All these carbs you're eating with salsa, hummus, other dips, etc...switch to celery.

Not interested in loosing weight as much as I'm gaining healthy. That said Id like to take 10 lbs or so off my knees. Was 225 3 months ago, now at 203. Just stopped eating fast ****ing food and simply less over all. Would line to try water fasting here soon.

That's the way you do it. Reasonable changes in what (and how much...) you eat and how much you exercise. It's slow but it's steady and it can bring life long change.

We forget that diet (and even exercise) is an industry. Fads end in failure and lead to yet more fads. All of us, especially this time of year, set these crazy, unrealistic goals, and ultimately doom ourselves to failure before we even start.

Why? Because we want to be fixed right now and we want it to be easy.

End result is a rollercoaster ride of diets and exercise plans and yoyoing weights and at the end of the day a lot of us really being disappointed with ourselves.

It's easy, but it's not fast. Move more. Eat less.

I think the best thing people here in this thread can do is keep it a place where the words 'fat' or 'fatty' or anything even remotely derogatory is thrown out the window. What I think everybody needs is a supportive place, not to brag or boast or make people feel worse about something we all probably hate about ourselves under the surface. No shaming, just advice or a place to vent or plan or whatever, but realize it's got to be a lifestyle change, and it may take longer than you want, be harder than you want, but never give up. Keep pushing ourselves. And to celebrate people's success along the way.

Just my 2 cents. Good on you for your progress, by the way!

Originally Posted by MagicHef (Post 11247105)

I started by counting my calories and giving myself 2,100 a day...500 or slightly more for breakfast, 200 for mid-morning snack, 500 for lunch, 200 for mid-afternoon snack, and 500 or slightly less for dinner, and 200 for snack (or less).

I don't monitor carbs, but I do try to keep my fat intake low (but I've found that for the foods I eat, calories and fat kind of go hand-in-hand.)

Also, I work my butt off. I will exercise vigorously at least an hour a day, usually on the stationary bike in my man cave but I'm also riding a road bike. Then, the better I've felt, the more active I've been with my kids, leading to street hockey games, ice skating, more walks with my wife, and longer bike rides when I have time.

On a Saturday, I'll usually go out and do about 30-40 miles with 1,500-2,000 feet of elevation.

I'll attach a before and after if I can figure out how to do it.

CaliforniaChief 01-06-2015 12:05 PM

Here's a before/after pic, although it's more of a before/during pic, because I'm not done yet.

Mr. Flopnuts 01-06-2015 12:08 PM

Treasure that woman for life. I out kicked my coverage as well, and you can't buy that kind of loyalty.

Hootie 01-06-2015 12:19 PM

I'm in.

I'm at around 210 lbs. I want to get to 190.

My goal is to run 2-3 miles every day on my treadmill. Yesterday I hit 2 miles. So, ideally, 15 miles a week.

That's really all I want to change, and that, alone, should get me to my goal. Eat A BIT healthier.

Oh, and while we're at it, less gambling. No machines in 2014, at all.

I need to figure out my eating habits, too. I basically have a diet that consists of a lot of Panda Express, Chiptole, various types of pizza (authentic, Pizza Hut, bowling alley, etc...), Jersey Mike's and BW3.

I am so picky and I always crave these things and these things only.

I need to learn how to eat healthier and eat cheaper. Every time I go to the store I end up wasting bread, lunch meat, everything ... because none of it ever sounds appealing.

I need help on this in the worst way.

I'm in!

I have been a long time lurker of this site. I have always followed along from the outside on these different challenges and topics. I am going to jump on this band wagon to see if I can use this as motivation to get my fat ass out and working out and eating right.

Current Weight: 300.7

Goal Weight:230

Good luck to all!

 NO machines?

they are terrible

I win every time I go to the boat and play poker. If I need to gamble, I'll drive my ass to Peoria on Saturday and rape.

I went wasted with some buddies a month ago and won like $380 in 3 hours.

I went this Saturday, drank a little, and lost $170 in 3 card poker, went and sat at the poker table when my name was up, and won $611 in 4 hours.

Online poker shutting down has made all of the 18-25 year old "pros" (lol) absolute fish. It's hilarious. Knits are knits. There was 30 people playing and there wasn't a single real poker player in the room. I crushed everyone.

I literally think I could rattle off 90% winning sessions in that card room on Saturdays (the only real good day to go from what I've heard).

(but I won't derail this thread any further)

2015 for me is : running, cooking at home more often, no god damn slot machines. Want to get under 200 and eventually start lifting again.

That's amazing, man! Big congrats to you.

The food thing is a state of mind. You've conditioned yourself to feel like every meal needs to be delicious. I eat oatmeal in the morning, salad or cottage cheese in the afternoon, and Lean protein for dinner with veg, and the occasional starch. Boredom is a state of mind. I'm going to play more slots this year to keep my mind off of it. ROFL

I have a lot more work that needs done than you. Incorporate oatmeal and a lightly dressed salad into your diet twice a week, and you'll get right where you want too be.

Damn that's a lot of salt man. Cut that shit out.

Sugar is really tough for me. I'm trying really hard to cut down on it.

Does everyone want to just do monthly weigh ins? I'm going to create a spreadsheet that tracks everyone's weights.

Just bought a cast iron so I'll start grilling chicken constantly and buy a few bottles of hot sauce from BW3 and go from there!

My laziness is just ... all-time high. All I like to do is gamble and drink and nap.

Boom. The good news is the repercussions of your decisions is not morbid obesity. So in the end, it's a choice more than a necessity. Just have to figure out how bad you want it. Eggs are quick as **** to make and are great protein and low calories. If you ever want some simple, easy, fast recipes I'm sure we'll have a bunch of them thrown in the OP soon. Or at least a link to them.
