Where we are, roster-wise: volume 2014.
Done this every year for about five years now. Last year we had this thread stickied.
It's always nice to just see the roster laid out, and hash out depth charts as the offseason progresses. Players will climb and fall on this depth chart, and of course players will be added and removed. Looks like we need a backup for Poe so we don't run into a similar situation at DT like we did at OLB last year.
Obvious upgrades at WR, TE and MLB are necessary as well. |
Also, the Chiefs cut Rashad Ross and Eric Kettani

Turn down 4 wut?

Has Parker ever played safety before? Or is this just a projection?
I really think he's good enough to play corner for us. He was the most impressive player in that San Diego game at the end of last year. Just my opinion, anyway. |
Also, really excited about UDFA RB Charcandrick West, Gray's replacement.

As a RB afficionado, gotta say I love this group... Charles and Davis as A & B, then probably McKnight and Thomas on punt and kick returns, unless Dressler beats out McKnight for that duty.
But just as a three man corp, its hard to beat JC, Knile and Thomas... every guy is ultra fast and they can all catch the ball, JC and Thomas are ultra elusive, Davis brings the size at 227. No matter which one of those three goes in, each can take it home from anywhere on the field... there isnt a 5-15 yards at best plodder among them. |
Didn't Ron Parker get snaps at CB last year?

Spoiler!
TL;DR: Our roster looks just as thin as last season. |
If our backups last year don't become studs we are screwed.
If last year's ER squad don't stay healthy and contribute we are screwed. roll those dice This is the type of offseason that gets a GM fired, or at least should. imo. |
You forgot the Jr. after Frankie Hammond.
Also, I hope we invite Vince Agnew back to camp. |

DAT doesn't really save a roster spot at all IMO.
I figured that with the WRs they have, only Hemingway will play ST, so they need to have an extra reserve DB to be a gunner... Which I randomly picked DeMarcus Van Dyke for that role. Now, I say KC carries three active TEs and I have Kelce listed as inactive.. The more I think about it, they may PUP him and ride with Fasano/Beard/Harris/Brock, then jettison one of the latter two by Week 8. Another possibility is carry 3 TEs (if Kelce's healthy) and activate Dez Moses. |
My early crack at the 53-man roster
