Airplane security...

I have been following the recent debate regarding the new screening machines available to be used in airports and came up with an interesting idea...

If an individual airline (say American Airlines) installed the most advanced backscatter imaging devices and you simply had to walk through them to get onto the plane... would it bother you? Would you choose a different airline or possibly would you choose AA over other airlines ... KNOWING that they had 1000% higher security?

I'd probably just strip nekkid before the machine and walk through I got nothing to hide!

I was just thinking about this myself. I'd gladly trade some privacy for higher security. No problem at all here.

Now granted, I have the type of features that I'm proud to show to female TSA agents, so I may be different. My bigger worry is that they'll think I have a stick of TNT or a pipe bomb.

If the scanner girl was hot I may have to stop in the bathroom to make sure I was at half salute before getting scanned but it wouldn't bother me one but otherwise.

If it makes it quicker, I really don't give a shit. I'd just like to get back to walking into the airport and walking onto the plane 20 minutes later.

What do you get when you put 50 women "of alternative life style" and 50 TSA agents in a room?

I actually got chosen to go through one of those in May. No big deal. Raise your hands, machine scans, lower your hands machine scans. I slowed it down because I forgot a quarter was in my pocket. Don't see the big deal. It was actually my reward for finding a $20 on the ground next to the initial metal detector.

I'd still fly Southwest.

Isn't security ran as an airport as a whole? I've never noticed different airlines having separate security.

I'll start writing messages in black marker on my moneymaker for the security staff.

The Luke Plan (for airline security)

All airline passengers will remove all clothing, be issued snuggies and a sock with a cue ball inside to be used in case of terrorist intervention. Official air marshall will be fully clothed and armed.Unruly passengers will be served a complimentary roofie. Allah Akabar indeed.

Security is run by the TSA... this is a "what if..." an airline decided to enact their own supplemental procedures...
