Huge win over the Cyclones.

I think.

CoMoChief 01-09-2013 08:55 PM

Every once in a while those guys come into AFH and play their asses off and steal a win. Almost for sure thought it was going to happen tonight...thank God the bank was open.

O.city 01-09-2013 08:55 PM

Guys, this is an MU thread. Shitty move.

With Missouri's luck, a star player performing such a dance in celebration would either:

A) Blow out a knee during it
B) Turn out to be a sexual predator and get kicked out of school

Spott 01-09-2013 09:03 PM

A couple of dumbass illiterate ****s in here already.

duncan_idaho 01-09-2013 09:05 PM

Oh, and also... F*** Ben McLemore.

Can't wait to hear the announcement he has earned Dean's List honors at KU. He will be a student athlete of the same level of academic achievement as Brandon Rush.

O.city 01-09-2013 09:16 PM

Watched you guys a few times already, looking solid. I think this team has more potential than last years team, but as of yet, doesnt' seem to have the killer scorer Denmon was.

I think you have a few that could get there, but I seem to be playing well.

Just firing back (in good fun).

When you post a GIF in a Mizzou thread of a ku player starting a dance to mock a Mizzou celebration, that's what is expected, right?

luv 01-09-2013 10:09 PM

Still in disbelief that we lost to UCLA. :(

Saul Good 01-09-2013 10:27 PM

Watching the WVU TX game. 1 minute left in OT, and only 106 total points have been scored. What a turd of a game. I'm sure ESPN is really excited about what the Big 12 brings to the table for Big Mondays this year.

Well, it was kinda funny when MU danced after their BIG12 conference tournament championship. Then got ousted in the second round.

If KU happens to do the same I fully expect MU fans to do the same. And I'm okay with it.

Generally you MU CP posters are good people. No hatred here.

Trevo_410 01-09-2013 10:40 PM

for a school that is scared to play us, ku fans seem to be quite interested in about everything mizzou has done since the departure....:shake:

Dunno why KU would be scared...the H2H record between the 2 schools is hilariously one-sided within the last decade.

I understand how some posters may seem obsessed about MU while posting in an MU thread.

I am not that type of poster.

Saul Good is a guy who has posted frequently in a KU thread. Do I think he's obsessed with KU basketball? Not at all.

The difference is that I've never claimed that I don't care about KU like so many of our fine friends from the west have. I watch almost all of their games; same for KSU.

In fact, I was a big KU fan until realignment came and so many KU fans went all jilted lover.

I get what you're saying.

But, that's irrelevant in regards to me.

That's like saying all MU fans are whiny bitches who complain about the refs. When in all actuality it is just Pete.

mnchiefsguy 01-10-2013 09:37 AM

Bowers to miss at least two games, they will miss him this weekend. Hopefully he is only out for a couple of games, would hate for his injury to be worse after all he has been through.

Understand. Most of my friends are hawks fans, and I watch a lot of the games with them. I don't shit talk them because they aren't whiny bitches. Actually, there are two who are more friends of friends who are good dudes but belong on youtube because they simply turn into petulant children during the games.

During last year's game at Mizzou, one was literally stomping his feet like a little kid and the other was pounding his fists on the table. We're talking about grown men. One is a doctor who brings in over $250k. It's bizarre.

Ceej 01-10-2013 09:42 AM

I've seen those type of KU fans too.

Frankly, it is embarrassing.

Which is why I tend to avoid going out for any KU games. I would much rather watch the games from the comfort of my own home.

Regardless, I will step away from this thread. I don't want you guys thinking I am one of the ones obsessed with MU basketball. :)

Great work against Suitcase Mike last night. He still has yet to beat aTm in basketball. Will he get it done in Fayetteville?

duncan_idaho 01-10-2013 10:09 AM

Oh, and by the way... Thanks, Suitcase Mike, for being a lazy moron in your last year at Missouri (and in general) as a recruiter:

Otto Porter: 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1.5 blocks per game for Georgetown
Ben McLemore: 17 points, shooting 51 percent from the floor, best player on a top 10 team and likely No. 1 pick in the draft
BJ Young: 17 points, 4.5 boards, 4 assists per game
Brad Beal: Lottery pick, average 13 ppg for a bad Wizards team as a rookie (Shooting percentages are atrocious, but they'll get better)

Whiffing on all those guys is just a joke. Before he left, it looked like he'd AT LEAST land Porter (which I was pleased about). That would have been at least ONE saving grace. The HS issues with BJ YOung haven't really surfaced (which was the only defense at the time for not recruiting him).

But getting outworked on McLemore and Beal is a joke. Billy Donovan lives in freaking Gainesville and saw Beal play more in HS than Anderson.

Yeah, UCLA is coming on strong now and playing like the team many thought would be a top 10 team in preseason.

Unfortunate that Missouri caught them on this side of it and not the other side, but still a great performance.

I think UCLA will ultimately win the PAC. Travis Wear and Shabazz Muhammed have both had the light "Go on" of late. Wear is a really tough guard... very skilled big. Kyle Anderson is also a really tough guard, especially flashing to the high post.

To be fair, BillyD had history with Chaminade in St. Louis - David Lee.

Yes, he did... and that helped them greatly...

But there's still NO EXCUSE for Billy Donovan seeing a guy who was identified as a top 5 player in his class from 8th grade on MORE than the guy who was 2 hours away from him.

Donovan attended more games at Chaminade than Anderson EVER did. Anderson went 1 time. When Beal was a junior. Donovan was spotted at the gym multiple times during Beal's sophomore and freshman seasons.

Anderson's first year at Missouri (06/07) was Beal's 8th grade year. The year he blew up at summer camps and burst onto the national scene.

Anderson is a lazy recruiter. There's no way around it.

DJ's left nut 01-10-2013 10:54 AM

Anderson's efforts in St. Louis were just disgusting. He simply made no attempts to break back into the STL area.

KcMizzou 01-10-2013 11:07 PM

Vandy got screwed. Nerlens Noel clearly didn't get the shot off in time, and the refs didn't even look at it. (Of course Bob Knight was completely befuddled by the whole thing. I was embarrassed for him.)

KcMizzou 01-12-2013 05:05 PM

Kentucky just lost their home opener to A&M. 83-71 Elston Turner put 40 on 'em.

Mizzou plays @ Ole Miss at 7. (FSN)

KcMizzou 01-12-2013 07:00 PM

Yeesh. Vandy only scores 33 at Arkansas.

Well, that sucked... but we're still within striking distance. We can win this game.

Our halfcourt offense is unconscionably bad.

Pasta Little Brioni 01-12-2013 08:17 PM

I offically hate Keion Bell. Just rescind his scholarship.

45-33 Ole Miss.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-12-2013 08:24 PM

Jabari Brown makes John Starks look like Ray Allen. Jesus ****, this team is in no way prepared to play.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-12-2013 08:25 PM

There's a play I've never seen before. A charge where they counted the basket.

Ebolapox 01-12-2013 08:25 PM

what a ****ing catastrophe

petegz28 01-12-2013 08:25 PM

O.city 01-12-2013 08:26 PM

Must have called it a foul, not a charge then. Happened in a game I was watchin gthe other day, took me a while to figure it out.

You almost never see it anymore, but I remember seeing it more in the 70s and 80s.

BTW, I haven't watched a second of this game. Football has been more exciting, and I pretty much expected the worst with MU.

score?

Pepe Silvia 01-12-2013 08:29 PM

I saw it happen with Jason Sutherland at A&M one time, he hit a 3 but plowed over the guy after release so they counted the bucket but gave him a charge.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-12-2013 08:31 PM

This Mizzou team is a total fraud. It's not a top-25 team. This reminds me of the 2010 team. Probably get an 8-11 seed and get whacked in the first round.

Last year was a self-motivated, veteran team. This team doesn't play well together at all, and it's not just the transfer excuse. They rotate terribly on the perimeter and can't run an offensive set to save their lives. Haith is looking like who we thought he was: a guy who can recruit but can't make a gameplan to save his life.

This team misses Nestor greatly, IMO.

-King- 01-12-2013 08:39 PM

LMAO Danny Parkins and Carrington predicted this would happen.

They are a top 25 thought tonight they look like total shit. One player being out shouldn't be that much of a thing even if it is Bowers but obviously it is

No, they aren't. They got their doors blown off by Louisville, beat an incredibly overrated Illinois team, lost to UCLA (epic collapse, BTW), repeatedly played close games against awful teams in non-con, and now they are getting absolutely destroyed on the road by a good, but no means great, team.

This is the worst shooting Missouri team I've seen in 20 years of watching them, and their perimeter defense is atrocious. It has one ballhandler. Webster Chan might be worse than Matt Pressey and I don't know how that's possible.

Ceej 01-12-2013 08:47 PM

WTF IS #HOTTYTODDY?

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-12-2013 08:50 PM

Jabari Brown is going to be a 28 percent volume shooter for a sixth-tier Greek league team in about five years.

Quite a "woof" performance tonight. Lost to a team that lost to Middle Tenn. St and Indiana St.
