Oh my gentle Jesus: Shoah.
Anybody heard of this documentary from the 1985? "Shoah."
It's a nine-hour documentary of little more than interviews of survivors, bystanders, and even some perpetrators, most of them gathered guerilla-style, of the Holocaust. Holy god. Some of these interviews are unreal. The documentary, in case you haven't heard of this thing, is 9 hours long. And it has wrecked me. I've been moved to tears like a dozen times. It was just re-released on Blu-ray, and I've shredded through this thing in just a few days. It is captivating. Anybody else seen this? |
No, but I must see it now.

It's just interviews, shot literally off the sidewalk at times. This guy is pure guerilla style in his approach to landing sources. Some of it is borderline-ethical, but it is gut-bucket honest at all times. It's like watching people just hang out and shoot the shit, only instead of casually discussing how bad the Chiefs are this year, they're weeping about the worst atrocities in the history of mankind. It is so ****ing touching. |
Nope.

Did any of them later become Chiefs fans?
Because there is only so much a person can take in one lifetime... |

no no -- it's not a myth, it's just that folks complain too much. those people were taken care of.

I'm conflicted. I feel obligated to hear their stories, but I don't want to put myself through it.
