I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy, this past year was far from enjoyable. But I'm still a Chiefs fan. I can't just switch teams. Sad, but true.

Move shows that Reid has a lot of faith in Stanzi to be the backup and perhaps the legit QBOTF.

Chiefs mum on Alex Smith report

It’s a given that the 49ers and Chiefs have a deal in place that will send quarterback Alex Smith to Kansas City once the league year starts on March 12 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Indeed, Jay Glazer of FOX wouldn’t be reporting it if it weren’t completely and entirely accurate.

But the Chiefs are saying nothing. Through a spokesman, the team said that there will be “no comment” regarding the “rumors” that have emerged.

It could be that the Chiefs are simply playing it cool in the event something unforeseen happens. After all, the trade can’t become official until the league year begins. Until then, in theory, the 49ers or the Chiefs could renege. We’ve asked the league office for confirmation as to the apparent reality that the agreement is non-binding until the league year opens in 13 days. If so, there’s a chance — albeit likely remote — that the 49ers or the Chiefs could back away from the bargain.

Quick....someone paralyze Alex Smith.

We essentially just made the 9ers 05 mistake all over. We're taking Alex Smith first overall over Geno, who will turn out to be Aaron Rodgers.

Pathetic.

Just about to post that. We as fans need to voice our displeasure loudly and in their face. We have 2 weeks to change their minds.

As a Chiefs season ticket holder for 21 years (1991-2011) I always dreamed of drafting a franchise QB. Now the Chiefs have traded their second round pick and it looks like with the top pick they will go offensive-line, I am appalled at giving up this much for a QB bust.

I was at the 49ers/Chiefs game in 2006 & 2010 and Alex Smith sucked in both games. From 2006 to 2010 Alex Smith showed no growth! Many Chiefs fans in our section laughed and mocked at the fact Alex Smith was the top overall pick. This is the biggest mistake in this franchise history.

Don't put the SAVE OUR CHIEFS airplane back too far in the hanger. We may need it by week 10 or 11 to let our feelings known about Alex Smith.

The Gandalf of Chiefs Nation has spoken.

Twitter is much less positive than facebook. There is a chance. Everyone hash tag it up and let your opinion be heard.

Spott 02-27-2013 03:24 PM

If this is true, I am officially done with this franchise. I'll take what chiefs gear I have left and give it to goodwill(if they will take it). **** Clark Hunt, Andy Reid, Alex Smith and **** me for supporting this dumbass franchise for almost 40 years. This franchise will never, ever change.

So you're saying we should inform the Chiefs of our opinion?
