Clip on what Denver must do to beat the Chiefs. Do we finally after all these years have a passing game?

Denver’s Secondary versus Kansas City’s Wide Receivers. At the beginning of the season many might have expected LB Bill Romonowski facing Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez as one of the key match-ups that decide this game. After early-season opponents severely limited Gonzalez’s production using frequent double and triple teams while stacking the line against the run, however, the Chiefs were forced by necessity to move the ball outside to their young, but quick, receivers. Look for the Chiefs to attempt to replicate their strong week 3 aerial performance to take advantage of Denver’s 25th ranked pass defense.<BR>

When isthe last time any Chiefs opponent had to worry about this?

Welcome to the neighborhood.

With Morris and Gonzalez both on the field, SOMEONE will have single coverage. We can use the passing game to force the Broncos off the LOS. I assume that they, like we Chiefs fans, harbor some distrust of Gunther/Raye’s ability to open up the Offense on a consistent basis. I expect them to play the run until we punish them for it.

I think we can run on Denver’s D, but I think we have to come out throwing to show them we are serious. Then we can run them into the turf. Once we establish that we are WILLING to throw or pass, we can do either.

If Denver plays the run, we have the receivers to move the ball in the air. If we force them to respect the run, we have the OL and horses to play maulball.

Today we find out of our coaches are for real.

The coaches are for real (fingers crossed) and you were right, Gonzo was open because of the more wide open passing attack.

If we can just get someone to step up in the RB position we would be good to go. I say let TR and FM have it for a game. See if they can get in a groove. Also, if they are gonna play Cloud how about a couple pitches?!?!
