Santiago comes in with the disadvantage of not making a start in 13 days after he was skipped over during the last turn of the rotation. He only pitched out of the bullpen once in the interim -- a one-out appearance on Sunday -- but insists he has no issue with the extra rest. "I've done it a bunch of times. I'm used to it," Santiago said. Opposite Santiago, the Royals will turn to rookie righty Yordano Ventura, who has gone 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA across his last four starts. Ventura's last outing against the Mariners was another impressive one -- a seven-inning, two-run affair that saw him register six strikeouts -- but he wound up taking the tough-luck loss on a go-ahead solo shot from Mike Zunino in the seventh inning. |

C'mon Ace

Good inning
Fat Belly!

Rain at the K
Gordon is hopelessly lost at the plate. i think he got hit by a pitch and had a shitty foul out that was lucky to result in a sac fly RBI last night, but outside of that i think he's about 0 for his last 19 or something along those lines.

Rain delay. I want to go play on that tarp.
Well that was odd.
Get that tarp OUTTA HERE!!
Looking at radar, I'd expect a lot of delays, if not a postponement. Let's hope the Royals can get the lead and get through 5 fast.
Tarp halfway on, now off

Holy shit wrong thread

someone please tell Denny Matthews that not only is it pronounced, "poo-holes", not "poo-holTs", he doesn't need to say the nam 27 times in 3 pitches

almost positive that the pitch Hosmer swung at was about shoulder level too. that dude swings early and often and unfortunately makes contact on just about everything out of the zone.
too bad Cain couldn't have got Esky over.....that would have tied the game right there
On my way to the game.
Strand a guy at 2B with no outs. Nice job assholes!

You have a pitcher who is easily rattled, he throws one by the catcher. Okay, Cain strikes out swinging, shit happens. But what does Hos do when facing said pitcher, bails his ass out with one swing on one pitch. Meanwhile Yost and Sveum are still debating the legalities of using this thing called the "take" sign. |

Yordano gives up a lot of extra basehits.

Ventura not looking very sharp. bring on the rain!

Ventura fooling no one

Here in time to see Alex's double & rain!
Once again we can't move the ****ing runner. Every time we get a runner on 2nd with 0 outs when proceed to strike out

So what are the rules in this situation regarding rain?
Let it rain all day now
In the hands of the umps now
If the K was about 10 miles to the west, it would've missed and probably gotten to like the 7th inning or so. Pretty lucky.
