Any features, apps or tips you've discovered?

Ill list you my favorite apps. Im not really a businessman or anything, just your casual phone user.

allrecipes - recipes, obviously

MLB at bat 2012. - basically lets you watch baseball games through mlb tv, follows in game cast, videos, ect. my only paid app. Worth it, since im a baseball junkie.

MLB at the ballpark - basically checks you in to the ballpark you're at. and enters you in a random drawing for free shit. just for fun.

Battery widget - shows you a giant battery and how much is left, percent wise. tells you what is bogging your phone down and lets you exit heavy programs, tells you the temp of your phone.

Dropbox - basically a cloud app. Made by a chiefs fan!

flashlight - self explainatory.

Golf pad - my favorite app probably. shows GPS of all courses in the US and basically measures your shot on to the green and lets you score your game on it. and gives tips

Instagram - picture/photo edit app./photo sharing

Opera Mobile - Best mobile browser ever imo. Super fast and clean. Would also recommend the regular version for your home computer, been using Opera for 6 years now.

Mixology - drink mixer app

ESPN scorecenter - self explainatory

Slacker Radio - Better alternative to Pandora

Turntable FM. - more user interactive alt. to Pandora.

My new fav app-
My Beach HD

This is the paid($1.99) version- highly customizable. Like having a window to your favorite beach. There's also a free version that's awesome, you just can't customize it....

The DirectTV app is one I like. Used it last night to set my DVR to record the Olympics while I was at the bar for Happy Hour.

Also installed the Sunday Ticket app.

I used that a lot before I dumped DTV.

I wish those bastards would of told me that none of that stuff works with the Directv Tivo brand DVR.

Sorry to hear it, wonder why that is?

i imagine it's because Tivo is a real hardass about allowing internet type access to their DVR's.

They don't want you networking their DVR's unless they have strict control of the content being shared.

Makes sense though it seems Tivo might need to accept the reality that mobile content manipulation is here to stay and if they don't offer it someone else will.

Samsung just got pretty well destroyed by Apple in court. I'm not a big fan of software patents, and I'm an Android fan, but Samsung clearly ripped off the iPhone, especially early on. I owned a Galaxy S, and you could tell it was designed to be as iPhone like as possible.

We'll have to see how this affects the market.

Wow.

Apple is a bunch of crybaby bitches.

And Apple lost even bigger in the case in South Korea. Samsung didn't stand a chance with a jury made of silicon valley people. Same for Apple in Korea. I expect Samsung to do much better on appeal ... my guess is a few hundred million tops and no change that will affect consumers.

It's an interesting case. In South Korea, Apple infringed on frand patents. So it's a bit different - they don't have much of a chance of doing that world wide. And it raises huge antitrust issues.

I do think Samsung was guilty here. They made phones that both looked like Apple devices and felt like them when you used them. Touchwiz was a blatant ripoff. Samsung has a bit of a history here too. The icons, the original Galaxy S, everything.

They've moved away from that a bit with the S III, which I think is an awful phone. And their tablets are shit. I don't have much sympathy for Samsung.

But I don't think it matters to Android in the long run. Companies should innovate, not copy. It's probably a good ruling, in the long run.

Found an awesome mp3 player. It's free for 2 weeks but I decided to purchase since it was so bad ass.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...aW9wbGF5ZXIiXQ..

12 band EQ with power amp and with a feature to bring up lyrics of the song currently playing.

It has lots of cool free skins to download.
