I was just wondering what some of you thought about the all time best TV commercials. Mine would have to be the "image is nothing commercial" for Sprite where the kids are unpacking grocries in the kitchen when the little cartoon sun on the label of their fruit drink comes to life and starts going "Hi kids...!!" Then the mom freaks out and goes "KIDS... RUN!!!" They all go tearing down the hallway of their house and the cartoon sun starts chasing them going "Wait, wait!" -image is nothing, thirst is everything. :D :D :D

Being a racing fan, but not a big Nascar fan, I still like the new NASCAR "How bad have you got it" series. My favorite one is the one where a whole family is gathered to celebrate thier grandparents 50th wedding anniversery and when it comes time to toast the guy opens the champaine, jumps up on the table and hoses down the entire room just like a F1 driver. The commercial ends with "How bad have you got it".

For you commercial lovers:
AdCritic.com I love the PETA 'bad cats' commercial. Motown song "Let's get it on" playing in the background... cat puppets going at it hard & heavy - in differin positions (it's hilarious). The commercial, of course, is letting people know they need to have their cat spayed/neutered. :) |
The "it just looks fast" car commercials out now are pretty funny. Especially the one where the dog comes roaring out of the yard chasing a parked car and runs right into the back of it.
|
Monster.com I think,
The one where the kids are saying "I want to be underappreciated" " I want to have a brown nose"... |
The VW commercial where the van pulls up with tires squealing and guys jump out and kidnap the unsuspecting VW owner, then come back and drop him off with apologies... "It just looks expensive.."
|
The Herbal Essensce commercial where the girl is taking a shower, enjoying her "Organic" experience, moaning and yelling "Yes!" as the guy keeps looking at his watch, waiting patiently for her to be done.
He gets in, and it takes him all of 5 seconds. As my wife said, "Typical man." MM ~~Thinks his wife found entirely too much humor in that ad. |
Make 7...
UP YOURS!
"Hey! Up Yours too Buddy!" "See, it's catchin on!!" |
The snickers commercial.
There is a line waiting to get into heaven. An old man is getting his sins repeated. "And were not even going to mention your bachelor party" Somewhere behind a guy yells "HEY DOES THIS LINE EVER MOVE" Swosh...the guy that yells gets shipped down to hell faster than one can blink The main guy says " Moving now isn't it" I love it |
That's a good one Pam. Always cracked me up.
Another one I like is the Nacho cheese Doritos one where the girl puts the Doritos in the tennis ball thing and then gets smacked in the forehead by the flying Dorito. I know it seems stupid to most people (my wife included) but something about the slow motion, cheese dust flying, dorito smacking her makes me laugh. |
As anyone who recognizes me from PSP knows, I’m a hopeless Gear Head, Motorcyclist and my favorite commercial is on Speed Vision.
A Motorcycle Cop pulls a guy in an old Corvette over and walks around the classic car saying: “56’ Corvette, of course the Head Light Rim is from a 57’, but you knew that right? The Hood is misaligned with the Fender there, and there’s a DING in the CHROME, and I just have to ask” as he pulls out his gun, “what’s under the towel?” The driver pulls away a towel in the passenger seat to reveal a bad duct tape repair job of the seat upholstery. The cop fires a shot in the air while screaming “DUCT TAPE!” and the frightened driver runs away. Maybe you have to be a Gear Head to get it, but I found this one hilarious. |
I think it's a mountain dew commercial where this dude is butting heads with a Ram
|
I just saw another one.
It’s a Miller Light commercial where a guy is slaving away in a garden next to a pool when this beautiful, leggy blonde walks out in a bikini to the pool and starts oiling up. The blonde and the gardener exchange glances, and when she has sun oil all over, she reaches into a cooler and grabs a Miller Light but can’t open it because of her oily hands. The gardener walks over, opens the beer for her and drops the cap into her awaiting hand, walks away with the beer as the background music pounds out, “IIIIIIII’m not your stepping stone.” |
You guys haven't seen some of the Jack in the Box commercials have you???? They are some of the funniest I have EVER seen. Picture this.
A very serious looking reasercher in a lab coat with a clipboard walking around in a room with a couple of physically perfect people running on treadmills hooked up to electronic device. The researcher begins to explain how everything in the past was wrong and he says that patato skins and jalapeno peppers and other junk foods are actually good for you and goes on to describe how this food also promotes hair growth. After this they pan out of a TV where this was obviously a commercial being previewed by Jack himself and another man is in the room showing it too him. Jack asks, "Where did you find this guy???!!!", and the other guy replies with a car salesman like smirk... "A tobacco company..." It is absolutely hilarious. |
fly for a white guy...
What are YOUUUU doing?
|
bishop47 - What about the 'Jack in the Box' commercials with the pitch guy pitching the 'boy band' and 'en vogue' commericals. They'd show these over the top parodies of music videos, they cut to the pitch guy in Jack's office miming the dance moves. The music would end, the pitch guy would stop, then look enthusiastically at Jack. Then Jack would just say 'get out.'
|
JC Johnny,
Absolutely, the boy band ones crack me up. I think they really are the best out there. They are silly AND witty. |
i kind of like that aflack duck...

it been a while but . . .
I think its a FedEx spot.
this pool claener or plumber or some kind of middle-aged handyman type is doing his job when the van of some inferior courier company pulls up and deleivers an envelope. The handy man opens the envelope and then the camera cuts to a close up of its content . . . the handy man's letter of acceptance into Harvard . . . dated 1978. This classic commercial closes with what appears to be teardrop landing on the acceptance letter. I laughed for hours. I also love the Bud Light commercial featuring Cedric the Entertainer dancing in the kitchen w/ a bottle in each hand. And the Visa spot with the bunnies . . . " Love is in the air" . . . too funny |
...AFLAAAAAAAAAAAACK.....
|
How 'bout that Pepsi Brittany Spears ad?
Not funny, well except the cook with the fire blazing behind him, but DAMN Girl!
They didn't grow 'em like that when I grew up... ____________ oughta be a law |
Snickers bar "man to hell" get's my vote too....
Also liked THE insurance commercial with the Guy and the dog, dog driving, and "MOTHER OF PEARL!" dog drives into a pond after ducks Dukes of Hazard style...:D |
Bishop I admit it, already I am stealing. I guess you were a Dallas Texans fan back in there hey day and followed them to KC.
Commercial: ANy of the old time Miller Lite Commercials. |
Wow! I wish. Unfortunately, I think I am only old enough to be a bandwagon Chiefs fan, not a bandwagon St Louis fan... :p:;)
|
Southwest Airlines:
Where the lady is at work when she has a pop up window say " want a new job? click here." She clicks there and then the screan goes pink and a cartoon character comes on the screen and says " congratulations, you just downloaded the new job virus. Soon everyone at work will have this virus and you will end up with a new job." She is in a cubical and you can see the virus downloading on everyone else's computer. It's hysterical. |
Old school commericals...
Coke: Mean Joe Greene throwing his jersey to the kid after downing his Coke in the tunnel. Brought a lump EVERY time I saw it. Speaking of lumps in throats; Every Hallmark Hall of Fame commercial when they had the Sunday movies showing. Anyone remember those Stroh's commercials with that dog "Alex"? Can most of us empathize with the kid in the back seat banging his head against the window while his parents sing stupid songs on a family vacation? (Sprite ad) |
