Dr. Johnny Fever 11-08-2012 05:40 PM

Are you all going to watch the game?

MNF? I find myself torn. I'm all in on suck-for-Geno/Barkley/whatever QB is actually going to "save" us in the long term... but man... even though I've watched most of the games up to this point and been able to laugh at our inneptness, this promises to be simply brutal. Our predictable massive fail combined with Tirico/Gruden pointing out every failure and knowing a national audience is seeing it........... I'm just not sure I have the intestinal fortitude.

Since I only have cable (without NFL net) and my local CBS affiliate dropped the Chiefs in favor of the London games last weekend this is probably my last chance to see them this season. I almost always watch MNF at least in the background and a Chiefs MNF should be even more interesting..... but damn. How much can a person take? It's not like I can't see the score in the morning.

ShowtimeSBMVP 11-08-2012 05:42 PM

Yes to see Haley run the score up.

Pasta Little Brioni 11-08-2012 05:45 PM

Yep. Always do through thick or thin

Nzoner 11-08-2012 05:45 PM

Yes,I'm starting Redman in one of my cash FF leagues and hoping he has at least one td against KC.

Oh hell yes, I'm watching. I love the Chiefs, and watching their implosion this year has been very self-satisfying. this isn't like the Herm Edwards 2-14 year that just sucked. The suckiness here has come with a purpose - a complete overhaul.

It has become schadenfreude. But a hopeful schadenfreude. One that has a goal of a real, homegrown QB coming in.

Pasta Little Brioni 11-08-2012 05:49 PM

Aren't you asking this after watching a full 162 game Our Time season ROFL Surely you can stomach 16.

Hopefully it actually happens this year (a top QB taken). I put no stupidity past this team.

Because eventually you get tired of having your toenails pulled out with a pair of pliers? Heh. Hey I'm a Royals fan. I can take pain. The Royals rarely get national audiences for their pain though. Somehow that makes it worse.

KCUnited 11-08-2012 06:13 PM

The game thread alone makes a Crennoli lead Chiefs team more than worth watching, add Monday Night against our fired head coach and no way would I miss the lulz.

BlackHelicopters 11-08-2012 06:13 PM

Will watch. Will hide eyes when necessary.

Agent V 11-08-2012 06:14 PM

I vowed not to watch if Cassel starts, but... goddammit. I wanna see the national embarrassment. I think I need to. It was pretty fun cheering for Cassel to suck last week.

Hammock Parties 11-08-2012 06:16 PM

Yeah. I like watching the Steelers pisspound the Chiefs.

Just like I like watching the Chargers pisspound the Chiefs.

I like seeing these incompetent buffoons get their comeuppance.

I'm an evil, sadistic, vengeful, dastardly prick and my inner child is burning ants with a magnifying glass this year.

KC Jones 11-08-2012 06:17 PM

Not only will I be watching it, but I'll be watching it over at my buddies place and he's a die hard Steelers fan. It's going to be painmageddon!

Goddamn right. This team has done little besides kicking me square in the balls for the entirety of my short life. They can take a few cleats to their ****ing gnads and see how it feels.

007 11-08-2012 06:25 PM

I have to take a nap on Mondays so I have enough sleep to get through Monday night 3rd shift to jumpstart my week. I might tune into a stream when I wake up but I expect to be down by 20 when I do.

FAX 11-08-2012 06:25 PM

I'm definitely watching. This is a classic matchup between good and evil. Only this time, we are the evil ... it's weird, but that's just the way it is, I guess.

My hope is that there will be tons of close-ups of Haley on the sideline high-fiving offensive players after they score on a three play drive interspersed with shots of Dr. Evil in his box seat as the lights reflect off the beads of sweat pouring from his evil, eggshell head.

I'll watch, but with no emotion, kind of like how this whole season has been. I don't know how you can let a season like this get to you? If it brings about true change like in 2008, then it's well worth it. No reason to get worked up over these jokers.

FlaChief58 11-08-2012 06:28 PM

I would'nt miss the Steel City Beatdown for anything in the world. I just hope they show Pussholy squirming everytime the Steelers score

mnchiefsguy 11-08-2012 06:29 PM

I am a glutton for punishment...so yeah, even though the Chiefs will be completely shut out and destroyed, I will watch anyway.

I have the sinking feeling that Monday's game will be one of the worst games in Chiefs history. I expect a beatdown of epic proportions.

stonedstooge 11-08-2012 06:30 PM

It's another act in the play the Cheaps are trying to put on

KCUnited 11-08-2012 06:31 PM

The real Chiefs impact game is Indy v Jacksonville tonight.

Ace Gunner 11-08-2012 06:31 PM

Are you all going to watch the game?

you betcha. I live for color guys like Gru that actually have a deep understanding of the game and intense passion to share it.

Of course, I also would like to see how Haley surgically minces this team too...

I wonder if Dr. Evil has mandated that players may not talk to Haley after the game. I'm pretty sure that several of them would like to speak with him about a job next season. If, that is, they don't try to change sides at halftime.

Also ... should we by chance get a lead ... I wonder if the players will give Roleo a Gatorade bath. You know, and start chanting his name and stuff.

Hell if I was Haley, I'd make the fat **** acknowledge me. Make Scotty sweat.

Hammock Parties 11-08-2012 06:43 PM

Todd should just hang around about 20 yards outside of Scott's smell during pregame.

Just keep looking at him and nodding and smiling.

Real life trolling.

Ace Gunner 11-08-2012 06:53 PM

I'd be happy if Haley clocked Pioli after the game.

petegz28 11-08-2012 06:57 PM

Not gonna miss a snap. This year has been such an enigma as a Chiefs fan. I find the range of emotions I have throughout a Chiefs game this year is someting one can only get from the finest of narcotics. I go from joy to frustration, to sad, to angry, to laughter, to disappointment to excitment all in 3 hours without taking one pill. That's just a rush you can't buy!

I'm not worked up. I said in the OP I've enjoyed much of our inneptness. If I watch it will be without emotion too. I just don't find it as fun to get shewered on national tv even though I understand the endgame.

Thank you Jesus.

ClevelandBronco 11-08-2012 07:49 PM

There's no way on earth I'd miss it and take the chance of missing Romeo's last game ever as the worst head coach since your last head coach and the guy before him.

DaneMcCloud 11-08-2012 07:56 PM

I've watched every game for decades as well, whether its been in Kansas, Missouri, Hawaii, Manhattan, Florida, Vegas, San Fran, San Diego, Los Angeles, Canada and Mexico.

I don't anticipate ever missing a game, no matter how shitty the team.

For two years I worked part time in a department store on Sundays and didn't see a game. I guess that got me over having to see all of it. Well that and I know my local CBS affiliate is going to drop KC by mid-season.

ModSocks 11-08-2012 08:05 PM

Damn right I am. I pay good money to see these ****ers suck. Plus, i wanna see if Todd Haley all of sudden goes deep to Wallace/Brown every play.

I used to have to chase down sports bars in Los Angeles, begging them to put the Chiefs on air. I usually got stuck in a corner watching on a crappy 19" TV.

Thankfully, I've had the Sunday Ticket since 2003 and haven't missed a second of the action at home.

ClevelandBronco 11-08-2012 08:14 PM

Pittsburgh fields the opening kickoff, the returner catches the ball, begins to run it out of the end zone but thinks better of it. He stops and kneels in the end zone, not realizing that he crossed barely out of the end zone before taking the knee. Safety. Chiefs lead 2-0 on the way to losing 45-2.

Good for you, seriously. I've never been able to justify spending the money for mlbtv (my favorite sport) let alone Sunday Ticket. Teenage daughter... I don't have extra money.

Until this season, I hadn't missed a game since Neil Smith was drafted. Even though the fail of the past couple years have pushed them off the major networks in my area and I had to resort to often very shitty internet feeds.

Somewhere 3-4 weeks ago, the continued existence of Cassel broke me, just plain broke me. Haven't seen a bit of them in the past month. Just catch whatever game is on the network. It'll probably stay that way until the overhaul commences in eanest, and certainly until Cassel is gone for good.

guitarmy21b 11-08-2012 08:42 PM

I'm going to be watching it because one of my good buddies is a Steelers fan and for once we can both root for the Chiefs to lose. I'm just tired of the team being embarrassed. I'd prefer it if the game is at least competitive. Hell, I'd be content with a 27-17 loss.
