How often do you read a whole thread?
 

A comment in the movies thread got me thinking. If a thread is real long before you join it, do you read it all and get up to speed before posting... or do you just read the thread starter, maybe the first few posts and go ahead and weigh in?

I have to admit, if a thread is more than 3 or 4 pages long before I get in on it I generally just read the first page maybe and then skip to the end.

I'm a lazy American.

The question should be how long do you commit threads to memory, or somesuch.

To answer your question, however, if I decide to click on a thread, I read through every post before I respond.

By doing that, I only look like a dumbass only about 95% of the time.

I read until I see a GoChiefs post. Then I know the thread has gone to hell.

That 5% is when I don't post.
