Lets Talk Dwayne Bowe
 

I'm not quite as savvy as others when it comes to keeping people/letting go. Has there been much talk of Bowe since Reid came in? Obvious upside to the guy is that he's really the only good receiver we have, and he's one of the better guys in the league. Obvious downside is he's expensive at this point.

Any insight on to whether or not there are signs pointing to him being here next year?

General rule seems to be that this gets looked at a lot harder after the superbowl.

How about the fact that Chiefs with the new CBA deal are going to have to spend up to 90 some % of their cap. Going to have to spend the $$ somewhere. Might as well make Bowe part of that.

They can no longer sake by being 30 mil under the cap. He'll be retained.

Tag him. Get a first rounder in trade if possible. Use that pick for younger faster legs to replace him. Save money. Life is good.

If we lose Bowe, we better sign Gennings and Welker to replace him.

Geno Smith is gonna need some reliable receivers and Bowe is the only one we have (unless Breaston is good to go).

HeWhoShallNotbeNamed is gone which is the only reason Bowe hadn't signed with the Chiefs.

Non-issue

Nobody is trading a first rounder for a 29 year old receiver looking for a big deal.

This is why we should have let BlackBob stay. This thread would turn into a full-blown jihad in 5 minutes.

This is not the year to save money.

This is the year to re-sign and extend as many contracts as we can. The rules say we need to spend 90% of our cap.

I think Bowe is perfect for the short crossing routes of the WCO. We should look at drafting a speedster/deep threat in the middle rounds.

Especially because our 1st round QB isn't going to be getting a huge contract. Extend Bowe, Colquitt and Albert.

If we dont re-sign him, we have 0 gamebreaking receiving threats.
