and then...

Eli/Romo/Roethlisberger

I think those are the top two tiers of NFL QB's right now

You had a good post going on, but putting Romo in there was nothing short of a fart in a crowded elevator

Setsuna 01-08-2012 02:50 PM

Romo is the worst QB in the league with top tier talent when the game/season is on the line.

1) Peyton Manning isn't an NFL QB right now
2) Leaving Stafford out of those tiers is foolish given what he's shown thus far

This is not the place to lament a kicker missing a playoff FG, THAT DOESN'T EVEN COST YOU THE ****ING GAME!!!

I have no energy to get into this argument. Any intelligent fan who watches Romo plays knows Romo is an excellent QB.

It's really not his fault his defense was horrendous in the 4th quarter this year. Does Romo play defense?

Setsuna 01-08-2012 02:51 PM

LOL refs hate NY.

stonedstooge 01-08-2012 02:51 PM

It's illegal to throw a player down now? Christ

milkman 01-08-2012 02:51 PM

That is a BS call.

Dylan 01-08-2012 02:51 PM

refs suck -- gotta be kidding me

Saul Good 01-08-2012 02:52 PM

**** this league. It's just not fun to watch anymore. Every play ends wondering if there is going to be a flag for some stupid reason.

I watched Stafford all year long...

I was just telling a friend YESTERDAY that if Stafford improves his accuracy and pocket presence JUST A LITTLE BIT he could be an all-time great. Dude has an absolute CANNON.

His inaccuracy frustrated me (as a fantasy owner this year)...he missed a lot of easy throws...he doesn't have a whole lot of touch (yet)...

Every game he'll hit a cold stretch...

I think his numbers this year were a little misleading...he was very good this year, but I don't think he was great.

and I'm saying that as a guy who was heavily invested in him to do well, and I watched 75% of his games this year.

Lets put it this way, I watched every Chiefs game, every Cowboys game, and most of every Lions and Patriots game (fantasy purposes).

Obviously, Brady is the best QB, but Romo really isn't far behind (he is a little inaccurate at times, too...but his pocket presence is unbelievable and he extended so many plays that lead to TD throws it was fascinating)...

Stafford was frustrating with the throws he missed...but his cannon is unbelievable. He has so much upside it's scary, and he threw for 5,000 yards and 40 TD's.

The NFL's target audience isn't traditional football fans anymore. It's shooting for the attention-span generation that need points and shiny lights at every stop. This is the consequence of that.

Hootie 01-08-2012 02:55 PM

P.S. My fantasy sleeper at WR for 2012 is Titus Young. 1000 yards and 8 TD's.

Romo is what people think Schottenheimer is.

What about Jerheme Urban?/micjones

Dylan 01-08-2012 02:57 PM

I like Romo ... ... Garrett is an idiot. Romo had a great season -- he passed for more than 4,000 yards with 30 something TDs and (I believe) 8-10 INTs.

Rob Ryan's defense lost the game against the Giants -- not Romo.

Simply Red 01-08-2012 02:57 PM

honestly Romo looks somewhat reeruned, if you look at him just right.

Simply Red 01-08-2012 02:57 PM

Heck that's ok though.

Anyone who wants to bitch about Bowe dropping balls, become a Falcons fan and deal with Roddy White. Dude drops balls ALOT.

stonedstooge 01-08-2012 02:59 PM

Good game Dylan. Hope the G-Men take out the Packers next week

O.city 01-08-2012 02:59 PM

Is Osi not playing? didn't notice him today?

Simply Red 01-08-2012 02:59 PM

Riots will not happen here.

Hootie 01-08-2012 02:59 PM

this kid I work with keeps betting me football games...I took Houston and the Giants for $20 a pop...I'm now 6-0 against him on the year. He's dumb.

I have the Patriots/Packers as my two Super Bowl teams...I think the only team that can beat the Pats is the Steelers...so I should cheer for Denver since it would be the easiest way for me to win money in my postseason fantasy leagues...but **** that. I hope Tebow gets embarrassed again.

Dylan 01-08-2012 03:00 PM

Tony Romo 2011 Stats

31 TDs 10 INT 4,184 yds 102.5 Rating

he had a high completion %

he was incredible this year...and he is a good leader

every "collapse" the Cowboys had this year was directly a result of that 4th quarter defense...I don't think they made one stop all year long.

(yet Garrett would always elect to run, run, run punt up 3 and the defense always gave up the score...I never understood it)

I think Garrett has room to grow but he needs to figure out a style and go with it. If Sean Payton coached the Cowboys team this year they would have gone 14-2.

Baby Lee 01-08-2012 03:02 PM

That would be cool to have that Alicia Keyes song about your hometown to play right after a home playoff win.

Osi is rotated into the lineup on pass defense. he's very efficient on pass rush

I'm not really even talking about his numbers though...I watch him play. He has incredible vision, a quick release, and a great ability to extend plays and make things happen.

The problem is, every time a team has a 4th quarter collapse the QB is blamed, and Romo is on national TV every single game.

Somehow people ignore the fact their defense just got abused in every 4th quarter loss...and then Collinsworth starts blaming Romo for missing that pass to Austin against the Giants the 1st time around (it looked like a damn good throw to me, too bad Austin couldn't run...)

Simply Red 01-08-2012 03:03 PM

& Jamal Anderson is gay, to boot.

that song will forever be linked to Eric Berry for me...

it was the draft theme for 2010 and I'll never forget the Chiefs calling Mr. Berry's name. Great moment for a depressed Chiefs fan like myself.

Rob Ryan is an awful DC.

Jerry Jones is the problem -- especially in the draft.

not sure I agree with that, but the talent on Dallas' defense just wasn't there

he certainly couldn't figure out the 4th quarter this year, that's for sure...and ChiefsPlanet fan favorite Terrence Newman was absolutely horrendous all year long.

If I were a real Cowboys fan, this would have been a heartbreaking year. I mean, they honestly should have been 12-4.

Simply Red 01-08-2012 03:07 PM

Dan Reeves is on the radio a lot here, locally. He sounds about 1,000 yrs old.

This could be the end of the Mike Smith era in Atlanta.

Dylan 01-08-2012 03:15 PM

Eli shredded the Cowboys defense -- They just don't come through for Ryan -- Never a good sign for a DC

Eagles always come to play. They're a scary team when they play the Giants ... They just need time to get it all together ... j/m/o

Reid has proved to be a terrible coach in the post season

Hootie: I love Berry. Great player!

I have high hopes for your team going forward. Honestly, I don't like to bring up the Chiefs' quarterback situation -- but, I hope your team finds a franchise QB.

Best,

Dylan

Didn't he have two pick 6s in the game against the Jets?
