Live 24/7 webcam of watering hole in Africa

This is killer shit dudes. Nature in action, if you like wildlife, that is. Animals of all sorts come by and drink, bath or just hang out. Also around dawn or dusk is when the action is most frequent. You can see comets, falling stars at night, listen to the sounds of nature at it's best.

First I will post the link, then a photo from a scene the camera caught

chagrin 11-11-2006 12:35 PM

Kinda boring right now, the sounds are cool, just a few minutes ago a lightning storm came from nowhere, it seems to have gone away just as fast

stumppy 11-11-2006 12:37 PM

All i'm getting seems like a looped clip ???

Same here.

Bob Dole 11-11-2006 01:44 PM

Been running a little over 5 minutes here with what appears to be live video. There have been some bugs flying around, so it doesn't appear to be a loop.

Africa is going to be in the neighborhood of 8-9 hours ahead of U.S. Central time, so I would guess probably later in the evening here.

How did you find this link Chagrin? Where in Africa is this camera?

Something is coming, I hear footsteps

Eleazar 11-11-2006 03:26 PM

Rhino drinking

It is NOT a loop, here is the official link and the forum also posts pictures. I fuggin addicted to this thing. Saw a family of ugly fuggin babboons earlier, they were amusing.

Technology has moved on and we are proud to bring you the first of our live streaming cameras on the Africam Wildlife Channel.

Nkorho Pan is a natural water hole in the prestigious Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, in South Africa. Nkorho pan is named after Nkorho bush Lodge which gets it name from the Shangaan derivative for the call of the yellow-billed hornbill, a common and unusual looking bird from this area.

mylittlepony 11-11-2006 04:51 PM

Easy 6 11-11-2006 04:51 PM

mylittlepony 11-11-2006 04:52 PM

hah, I saw that.

Last night, I left this on when I went to sleep, it was quite interesting to hear the difference between the outside sounds here vs there, and yeah I am seeing comets (or whatever the light streaking across the sky is) and shit all the time. I hope some night shifters catch something, if they watch this, that is.

I took a nap earlier today, when the baboons were there and when I woke up 1.5 hours later, I had missed a hippo, a wildebeast and some other stuff - according to some other dudes.

Thunders woke alot of animals up, lots of noices. Still nothing coming up to drink.

Smed1065 11-11-2006 05:33 PM

I think it is weird because I have been here before dark and hear breathing but no animals. Ok, crickets but that sucks for Africa......

It was getting dark UPON ARRIVAL and I am SKEPTIC NOW.

mylittlepony 11-11-2006 05:39 PM

It should be dark now. Im looking out the window and its pitch black and Im in the same timezone as them give or take an hour. Still I agree untill I've seen one animal Im not a believer.

It's an ASF file. Mine keeps trying to load in BSPlayer. I have to go into Windows Media Player and manually set the file type in preferences in order to get it to work.

Reerun_KC 11-11-2006 07:16 PM

see the deer, boy it took him forever to watch and look before he drank...

Waiting for the Lion to come out and smoke him!

Reerun_KC 11-11-2006 07:17 PM

Now there are 2 of them.

stumppy 11-11-2006 07:18 PM
